Bull**** comparison. This can easily be flipped to say:

Conservative Logic 101 - A white man kills black people and conservatives rush to say ATTACK ON CHRISTIANITY/MENTAL HEALTH! A black man kills white people and conservatives rush to say BLACK RACISM/DEGENERATE BLACKS!

Regardless, this entire thread is all kinds of stupid and it's astounding that this many people are giving the OP the attention he wants.

Not really a bull **** comparison as both were racially motivated and have mental issues. Everyone grabs onto the racial element but the real issue is having people with mental health issues killing innocent people.

Except one tapt into a very prevalent white supremacist movement. White Supremacist rhetoric is still very prevalent and is a reason why discussions about race and right wing media sources feeding into the white supremacist rhetoric was an issue with the shooting.

There is an actual legitimate issue of right wing media sources such as Fox News disparaging minority groups which allows their viewers to confirm their preconceived bias and unfortunately some act upon it.

I don't really disagree with on right wing media sources pandering. I don't know how prevalent the white supremacist movement is at this point, but at different points in US history the Klan has had a massive membership.

Ultimately you have two people with mental health issues killing people. People can argue the racism element until they are blue in the face; but this is really about mental health.

With Dylan Roof, why can't it be both?

Why can't it be a mentally unstable individual sucking in white supremacist rhetoric?

Because violent uprising or direct action is in the rhetoric of any extremist and any knowingly futile political movement or philosophy. The mental illness and/or individual impotence and rage that actually spurs violence simply uses the rhetoric as moral or practical justification. Furthermore you're fairly obviously trying to link mainstream conservatism to murder and extreme racial separatism.

You usually have no idea so that's nothing new. I very exactly said the gun nuts I've met. Over the last few years I've taken about seven or eight training classes. Some were full day classes and others were multiple days. I've spent a lot of time at the range with these folks, shooting and training with handguns and rifles. 95% of these folks have CHL's and carry every day. A lot of them have arsenals that would freak out the average person I'm sure. So among the people I've met and spent a good deal of time with in Texas, I have a pretty good idea about what they think and what they support.

If someone breaks in you're going to eschew your gun in favor of cowering in the closet or something? Ha.

If you consider Fox News rhetoric mainstream conservatism, then yes I am and rightfully so.

I can point to specific instances where Fox News anchors' rhetoric was enough rhetoric for inspiring murder. Just google George Tiller and O'Reily.
