Right, and Hoyer has never gotten any better. He might have been good at the high school level, maybe, but he wasn't good at the college level and he hasn't been any good at the NFL level.

I get that BOB has a blind spot for the kid, but it doesn't make him any better than he is. He's still inconsistent, he's still inaccurate, he still has a fairly weak arm, he still struggles reading defenses, he still doesn't have a quick release.

Even that college scouting report says "His consistency is very lacking; he is the type of QB who can go for 300 yards and 3 TD's one week and then go 150 yards and 3 INT's the next."

Watch his games last season and tell me that's not still the case.

From that same scouting report, what's still true is that "He is good at the underneath stuff and can dink and dunk it down the field" which is pretty much the only thing he's shown so far.

Turns out Hoyer was a 3 star recruit and had 19 TD's and 12 interceptions completing 48% of his passes his senior year of high school for just under 200 yards per game for those wondering.

He signed a backup money contract. Jesus, you act like we handed this kid the keys to the franchise then took them away from him. He lost the competition. Hell, the coach said to be ready as Hoyer could screw up and get pulled.

I don't like Hoyer either but if Mallett skipped practice because he is upset then screw him. Cannot believe you would defend this behavior.

And while you make some good posts, your hijacking every Texan thread and arguing non stop gets really ****ing old

Sounds like BOB made the right call then if that's how Mallet is gonna react to being the backup.

Has it already been pointed out that last year, BTG was talking about how bad Mallett was in comparison to Fitzpatrick, only to claim, a year later, if Mallett were to be released, he would immediately be picked up by the Jets to replace....wait for it....Ryan Fitzpatrick?!?!

    Now that's funny.

Pretty easy to imagine that this is directly connected to losing the QB competition.

If so, that's hellaciously bad form on Mallet's part.

Bingo. Claiming to have insight into the fairness of the QB competition is laughable.

If this team had Schaub of 2008-2011 I would have no problem with that, but the 2-14 team blamed Schaub which he did have a lot to do with the season imploding. I think people forget how awful that defense was too. The fewest turnovers caused in league history didn't help them and they quit on Kubiak I don't care how people want to spin it.

In a normal world this QB lack of competition and now Mallett being disgruntled would have the coach's ass getting warm, but that won't happen here because McNair is content with mediocrity as long as he is raking in the cash every year.

Savage may be the starter sooner than expected.

Not sure why people are saying Mallett has a right to be mad.

The guy did **** in training camp and in games…you guys really think if he was playing like a stud, Hoyer would still be named the starter? Come on.

I watched two preseason games and nothing I saw from Mallett made me want him as the starter. At least Hoyer threw a ****ing TD pass.

It won't happen because 1) the 2015 season hasn't been played yet and 2) we went from 2-14 to 9-7 last year. Absolutely no reason for OB's seat to be warm right now.

Yeah, that's not really what he said. From the audio I heard, it was more like "That's between him and me. It's something personal with him". Which I guess you could take as it's a personal issue between the two of them. Or you can take it as two distinct statement. 1) The specific reason is being kept between the two of them, and 2) the reason is also personal, meaning not an injury.
