If the guy wanted to get his hands on a gun he could've, legal or illegal. But the point is this idiot is using a tragedy just hours after happening to further his political agenda. He's a douche.
Because events like this are the best and most emotional reminders to show that change needs to happen.
The only way to not derail this thread would be dozens of pages only saying "RIP, what a tragedy", doesn't help either.
I live in Australia and hear next to nothing about gun violence.. Maybe 1 or 2 national incidents every few months. I understand that the US is different but you guys won't even try.. You have created this culture of fear and violence manifesting in this need for security. Even if you are staunchly pro-guns, when is enough, enough? Do you really need those high powered rifles or semi-auto's? Is it worth the cost of so many lives?
What a coward. Kills someone on TV while posting on social media then decides to run and off himself.
Apparently he failed in killing himself, he still has a pulse but is in critical condition. According to CNN
CNN is simulcasting WDBJ's noon broadcast. They are reporting that the gunman is still alive and in "very critical condition."
Talked to some Australians about the American gun culture and why we can't do what they've done down under. They think they understand, and they think Australia had a gun culture of its own that they've transformed. But, I have to think the US is fundamentally different in how it thinks about guns and gun crime, and Aussies really just can't understand until the come live here for a protracted amount of time.
Violence is part of American culture. We show it to our kids young and don't bat an eye. We let them play video games where they kill others with guns. But god ****ing forbid anybody shows some t*** on Cable before 10 PM or society has clearly gone to hell.
