I think DM's trying to make a big 3 happen. Interesting stuff, Codman. It's been awhile since you went cryptic on us. Got any songs for us? Like:

This is going to drive me crazy like when doc rocket posts something.

Here's his post after posting the cryptic stuff:

It's odd that he posted about Asik and Jackson. Neither of those players are newcomers. I know we're not trying to get Anthony Davis. That would be stupid good.

No I agree I think he has some nice skills I just don't think he compares to Faried at all. Kenneth is one of the elite jumpers in the NBA, he takes off and sky's above defenders like Blake griffin.

From all the talk about this guy being a Faried clone I didn't see any of it in him.

Comparison does not mean it has to be an exact match. Similarities are:
    - high energy players
    - short in height but makes up for it in arm length
    - explosive off the floor
    - decent mid range jump shot
    - great rebounders in college
    - very good weakside/help blocker

With regards to skying abovr defenders, Montrezl has a 1 inch advantage against Faried on standing reach and has been approximated to have the same max vertical or even better than Faried.

There is so much similarities with them. It does not mean that Harrell will be just as effective as Faried in the NBA but he certainly is bringing the same physical tools and skill sets.

Don't know what FOE implies. "FOE" Phoenix? (Dan Majerle turning 50. Definitely a Phoenix-based poster, based on this and other posts.)

313 = Detroit. Marcus Morris? Ersan Ilyasova? Stanley Johnson?

Maino = Brooklyn (hip hop artist). Joe Johnson (contract is huge, albeit expiring)? Thaddeus Young?

Snowed in....(song by Albert Collins about) Chicago. Jimmy Butler? Taj Gibson?

#FOE = Family Over Everything; this is the hashtag Marcus Morris used when blasting Phoenix.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I'm blocking most of the Suns fans on my timeline most of them bandwagon any way . I still got love for some <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/foe?src=hash">#foe</a></p>&mdash; Marcus Morris (@MookMorris2) <a href="https://twitter.com/MookMorris2/status/627154302348333056">July 31, 2015</a></blockquote>
    <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

So potential destinations for Markieff include Detroit (313 Area Code), Brooklyn (Maino), and Toronto (Snowed In).

Seems like Cod's info is coming from a Phoenix source this time, with the reference to Dan Majerle.

Personally, the Cat Mobley reference would seem to indicate that the Rockets would listen on Ariza in potential deals; guy you hate to give up, but is necessary in terms of salary. Would also play into Cod's assertion that MT is gonna have a big year; pretty hard to to that if you're 4th on the depth chart at wing, and you've got two guys who play 35+ min ahead of you...

I found this. He talks about having more than two defenders and says TY hitting 3s. It doesn't say Ty or PAT or TREV so there is a chance this wasn't a mistake. Could be alluding to Thaddeus Young, who is under contract in Brooklyn as was discussed before. He also hits the 3 very well.

Yes, I could be reading too much into this, but I think it's better to get any reasonable ideas out there then start eliminating based on stronger clues trumping the weaker. And as always, if you don't like playing the game, you probably shouldn't.

Is Cod talking about basketball here? Because he's completely ignored the fact that DCkid has only listed 4 points. Trade could be for non-starters only based on this?

I hope not. We'd lose so much defensively.

Thank you - I was also scratching my head at that assertion. Thanks for saving me from looking up the stats to check on whether he miraculously found his shot this past year when I wasn't watching....

because caps makes a career .323 unwell. regardless a good defensive player. for anyone that cares, draymond has shot .321

CAPS will never make you right. it only catches attention for a small amount of time.

I'd take Faried in a heartbeat. Hustle, high energy guy who doesn't need the ball to be effective. Plus he runs the floor better than any PF besides maybe Blake

    Faried? Naaaaaaah.

He does well the things you mentioned, and his contract is probably considered reasonable given the way the salary cap will explode next summer.

But if or when the Rockets make a move for a power forward it will likely be for one who shoots the three-pointer well. (Although Thad Young does not fit this. Marcus Morris, assault charge notwithstanding, does. And Codman mentions a "snowed in" place; if Chicago, I can name one guy, in Toronto, I can name another, but....this is all chasing-a-rabbit-down-the-hole anyway).

Maybe they'll see if Montrezl can be their cheap version of Faried.

None of the nonsense Codman has said on this forum has ever come true, yet fools continue to entertain him. Even bballholic has more credibility at this point. It's amazing.

Thad's better than I thought. Most seasons, he has refrained from shooting 3-pointers much. In his second and third seasons, he shot a lot (2/game, playing starter minutes) and shot around 34-35%. That doesn't make him a sharpshooter, but a credible stretch-4. After several seasons of not being used that way, he shot 3.7 per game on starter minutes in 2013-14, but shot less than 31%. That was on a terrible Sixers team that was trying to tank, though. I think Thad was literally their best player. And in this last season, he shot 38% in Brooklyn on 1.8 attempts per game, but he only played 28 games, so sample is likely too small. Even so, overall I'd say he's not a sharpshooter but he's a credible enough bomber at power forward that defenses should guard him at the 3-point line, which is all you need to stretch the defense.
