yuck What a way to wake up on a Monday morning I am substantially less enthusiastic about this season now.
just to add, we could have 25 year old aaron rodgers and hoyer would still get the start on the mere fact of hoyer being the safe. Qb gurus are comfortable with what they know. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith. all that, and I still think hoyer can accomplish a little more than fitzie. it's just going to be tougher without the threat of arian. defenses are going to salivate.
Hoyer is safer i guess. Plus we know OB will pull you for bad QB play. Maybe Mallet just doesn't have it. I think he had to win it from Hoyer and sounds like that didnt happen.
Hoyer just excels at the short to immediate routes, which is what the playbook is all about. Now that he is named the starting QB, I wish the best for him and our team. Go Texans!
With the contracts given out this off-season, Mallett had to win by KO. Looks like he didn't distinguish himself enough from Hoyer, so we're left to hope that BO'B/Hoyer can scheme our way to playoff contention. Maybe the passing game will take a step forward this year with the concepts, but if it doesn't, man, it's gonna be a long year for that side of the ball.
