Sending Fields down to give him some rest. Surprised he still has options.

This wouldn't be next year's lineup. Gomez will most likely be gone after next season.

He's 6'4" and 210 pounds…That's not really swoll at all. Marwin is 3 inches shorter and only about 5 lbs lighter. Preston Tucker is 4 inches shorter, but 7 lbs heavier than Correa. Heck, Jake Marisnick is the same height but weighs 10 lbs more….and Jake is pretty lean.

He will definitely fill out to about 225 within a few years.

Also, what's so wrong about moving Correa to 3rd if Bregman is a legit star at SS? If Bregman doesn't have the arm for 3rd, then just move Correa there and you'll have an amazing infield. Not so sure why there is any resistance at all to the move, considering the fact that we SHOULD have a stud in Bregman who isn't capable of playing 3rd.

We are witnessing an all time historic start to a SS career, so all this talk of moving him to 3rd to make room for Bregman is just, for lack of a better word, stupid.

What makes you say that? If he is, he's not significantly over 210. Maybe 215.

Often, listed weight is not true weight. He's probably closer to 220, if he hasn't broken that mark.

Again, what difference does it make where he plays on the field, as long as all positions that are played on the field are played very well. If Bregman can't play SS, then obviously its a dumb move…but if Bregman is very solid at SS and Correa is very solid at 3B…then it would be dumb to not have Bregman in the lineup because you don't want to move Correa 15 feet to the side.

Ok, and that goes for everyone…it's not just Correa that the weight isn't accurate. The point stands, his weight, in relation to others, is lower. He's a strong kid, but he's skinny and has plenty of room to fill out with the frame that he has. And more likely than not, he will fill out. Dude can't even buy himself a drink right now…by 23, he will be much stronger, and with that, comes increased size.

I'm sure Correa cares, as his numbers will look much better HOF wise as a SS rather than a 3B. Remember, we are gonna have to convince him to stay an Astro his whole life, so it would be wise to not do anything to jeopardize that.

He is playing the position at an elite level defensively, so as long as that doesn't change, he should stay there.

    KATOH’s In-Season Prospect Update

Here’s KATOH’s top-100 list considering stats through August 18th. Only players with at least 200 plate appearances and/or batters faced this year were considered for this list. Before I jump into the list, I feel I should mention Carlos Correa here. Although he’s no longer a prospect, his forecast of 19 WAR through age-28 was easily the highest among players with a meaningful sample of games.

Is it? Ripken's listed weight is 200. ARod 225 (steroid use for a decade). Tulo 215. Machado 185.

Those are the SS's that he has most commonly been compared to.

For those unfamiliar with the KATOH metric, here's a primer.

It is utilized to predict a prospect's chances of making the Majors by using his age (relative to league) and statistics. It's named for Gosuke Katoh, a 2B in the Yankees system.

There are only 13 3B in the HOF compared to 21 SS.

    Okay. That proves my point.

There would be many more 3Bs had they been SSs instead.
