Somehow you put Steve Francis on that list but not Rudy Gay, Richard Jefferson and Nic Batum.

The list also includes anyone the Rockets traded the draft rights for, only if they traded for them near the draft. This means players like Chase Budinger (technically drafted by the Pistons) and Carl Landry (technically drafted by the Sonics) can show up.

It excludes draft rights that were traded for more than a year after the draft (Luis Scola) because those weren't really draft targets by the Rockets.

Rudy Gay, Richard Jefferson and Nic Batum never played for the Rockets. The list sorts every player based on the total win shares they contributed to the Rockets only.

The post Clutch City days until Yao are pretty rough. Bryce Drew, Othella Harrington, Eddie Griffin (RIP). I remember people were saying Eddie Griffin had KG-like potential, he certainly had all the tools...

I didn't include anyone originally drafted by the San Diego Rockets. Here is that list:

    Code:

    Calvin Murphy 1970 2 18 520 17.9 86.2
    Rudy Tomjanovich 1970 1 2 292 17.6 56.6
    Elvin Hayes 1968 1 1 244 11.3 17.2
    Billy Paultz 1970 7 103 240 5.6 9.2

Luther Head above Sam Cassell? Win shares is a decent stat but taking out playoff contributions seems wrong in this case.

Murphy and Tomjanovich would be second and third on the list, respectively, if included.

What's sad is he doesn't have negative win shares, so he's still higher than someof the others on the list.

Mobley at 2nd round, 41st overall was pretty nice. But CD deserves less than 0 credit for that, because even a broke clock is right twice a day.

He passed on H-Town legend Rashard Lewis for the likes of....oh lets see...
    14th pick Michael Dickerson
    16th pick Bryce Drew
    18th pick Mirsad Türkcan

Don't feel ashamed if have no idea who those 3 guys are. 1 played like what, 1 and a 1/2 seasons before flunking out of the NBA, the other stringed together a 4 year mediocre NBA career, and 1 ended up playing 0 minutes in the NBA.

Jeremy Lamb should be near the top for duping the Thunder into giving us Harden. Great pick!
