Not giving up on Carlos either and don't want to deeply debate this either, he needs to get going and going soon but... Not available for the same price? Sorry for the dumb question but you think he would have cost less or more? Or what do you mean not available for the same price? Parra was traded for one pitcher. (Orioles #3 prospect according to MLB.com; 6th after the 2014 season according to BA) Heck, 2(of the 4) players they sent for Fiers & Gomez were going to Philadelphia for Hamels(had he approved a trade here). Wonder what else that package they sent to Milwaukee could have gotten them. Bottom line, Gomez needs to get it going. Great that you "feel sexy" but your play is anything but.
Parra certainly would have cost less. He is going to be a free agent and doesn't have the track record Gomez does. I have no idea why they didn't target Lind and Parra. All I can guess is they think Gomez is vastly superior and they like the fact he is under contract next year. Still Lind would look nice at 1st.
Maybe but Lind is having a fairly terrible 2nd half. Since the all-star break... .236 avg .651 OPS 2 hr/15 rbi The 1st baseman we need is now hitting .400 in AAA.
That's not the way the official scoring works. Since Marisnick only had to advance one base, the only way Altuve is credited with more than a single is if he hits a home run or ground rule double. He could have run all the way home had he chosen, but he would not have been credited with a home run.
Defense was shifted differently due to the situation. A lot of times that ball results in an out. CF was playing way in and towards right. Anyway, I mention it because I noticed his average was climbing again, but his OPS wasn't going with it. He's being the anti-Valbuena (well 1st half Valbuena).
With two outs, not sure why any outfielder would have been playing way in. I can understand a little more in than usual due to the fact they want to cut off a single, but way in would be overkill.
I really didn't think anything specific in either direction. Just throwing out a reason Parra might didn't happen. Reading your post, clearly he would've cost less... smh. I just hope everything works out. These trades are also a reason posters shouldn't think the '15 Astros shouldn't be playoff or bust. Giving up prospects definitely makes this season playoffs or bust. No-playoffs would be floppish and a little embarrassing IMO. I think we'll comfortably win the division though. Kazmir resigning is another factor. Regardless of this season's final outcome, the Astros future is bright. We (and the media) already thought so before '15 began.

He may not have been way in (doesn't look as far in from a different camera angle), but it was interesting to see a guy shifted so far when teams usually play Altuve fairly straight up.
Yes, and Hinch has not used him enough. At least it looks like he is starting to see the light and play him again tonight. Also, great to see Hinch using Marwin in left instead of Gattis. Like I said before on defense I take Marwin anywhere except catching over Gattis. Now let's see if he learns not to use Conger vs left handed pitchers.

Dodgers Are not hitting but 5 starters are doing very good, why not the bullpen? McCullers and VV in the bullpen would help our team incredibly.
Here We go again with Hinch. Last 2 games Gomez Is hitting .333 and he gives him a day off. Now, when he is 0 for 20 no days off.
