This reads like some kind of No True Scotsman argument. The implication I'm getting here is that because of Remii's political positions he's not black enough, or otherwise perhaps abandoning his race. Is that what you want to say? You jump to a whole lot of conclusions -- that Remii makes a good salary, that he votes his personal interests over the interests of the community -- without much of anything to go on. Even, in fact, in opposition to what he's already told you: that the Democratic party has sold the black community out. That's not what you say as someone protecting his stock portfolio. I think this is basically an ad hominum argument. If you think Remii is wrong about Democrats taking advantage of blacks, give us an argument about why they didn't, instead of casting aspersions on Remii's blackness.

The longer that Republicans consider Trump a legitimate option for the nomination, the less I think of them.

It's like saying you don't know what you want to do with your life, but you are seriously considering a Meth addiction....now I'm not saying that's what I'll end up doing with my life, but that's currently the leading option on the table....

First of all, I make much more money than him. It's wrong to group us in the same part of the 1%, and offensive.

Secondly, are you or are you not a Muslim immigrant?

Thridly, your understanding of black culture is insulting to people like me who have lived it. Turn down the gangster rap, william smith, or whatever you listen to, and spend some hard time on the inside. Visit Montgomery, Alabama. The third ward. Inglewood. The bronx. Know how the average guy feels instead of your favorite rapper throwing around cliche mantra's.

The idea democrats benefit the quality of life for working blacks more than Republicans is all in your head. Elitist policies aren't a realistic option in 2015.

You speculated on the existence of Asian programs as a direct rebuttal to criticism of blacks' ubiquitous and documented preferential admissions opportunities under affirmative action. After multiple inquiries, the last one in response to your dragging the discussion out of its original thread, as you're doing here, you posted search results tied to scholarship programs; which in no way drew a parallel to or allayed criticism of black-favored admissions standards.

An attorney colleague of mine is all aboard the Trump train. Loves Trump's alpha qualities and willingness to tell off Mexicans and women.

White woman are the primary beneficiary of affirmative action so of course Trump is going to say he supports it because a lot of white women vote (but we've heard how Trump will talk to a woman and he'll trade in a wife when he gets bored with her). White women (the "women's rights to superiority movement") and immigrants are getting more use out of affirmative action and black folks are just helping push the black community further down the food chain by supporting it.

As far as government programs... It's no secret that welfare is a white program and white folks receive a majority of those benefits, and illegal and legal immigrants are getting in on it too. And to kick black folks off government programs _ everyone would have to be kicked off... Amongst black folks the amount of single mothers would drop if that happened so no big deal for them.

So the Council of Conservative Citizens who is called a white supremacist group is trying to end programs that mostly benefits white folks that black taxpaying citizens have to help support... And they probably haven't been burning many crosses in black folk's yards either.

It's very admirable that black folks are willing to give 90% of their vote to democrats to help poor white folks and immigrants like glynch, but do you have any other reasons why the democratic party should own the majority of the black vote...? Because the reasons you are giving are saturated in political ignorance.

Without assuming too much about your co-worker I think there's a subset of upper-middle class Americans who feel especially constrained in their inability to speak disdainfully about certain groups due to the risk of appearing provincial or gauche amongst their desired peer group. Seeing someone that emblematically wealthy speak that abruptly about perceived social inferiors is probably refreshing or vicariously liberating.

King Senior endorsed JFK after Birmingham, beforehand he was quoted as being uneasy about endorsing a Catholic; but everything else here is factually wrong.

Dr Carson brings that same appeal. He's just not as off the wall. Bush may take the lead eventually though.

Which was around the time King Jr went to jail, right...???

The Catholic angle is convenient if you believe the Vatican is still ruling the world and the Pope is the anti-Christ and considering King Sr changed his name and his son's to "Martin Luther," but radical terrorist Christians were black folk's problem in this country and many pastors didn't endorse politicians at all.

But I won't debate your facts you've found because history is always debatable and I don't expect people to agree.

That is exactly what it is. There is a sizable group of people that are upper middle class and wealthy that have disdain for poor people, minorities, gays and really anyone that is socially inferior. It is hard to seperate how much of it is race and how much of it is economic. Because of my profession I am around a lot of wealthy people and it seems their is more disdain for poverty than race, although there is no doubt comments made about race and gender and sexuality as well.

We live in a hyper PC time, and while I think society is a little more open minded than it was 20 years ago, make no mistake there are still a lot of people (especially wealthy) that have a very negative opinion of their supposed socoal inferiors. Take gay marriage for example, all those people that didn't like homosexuals or think they shouldn't be allowed to marry 5-10 years ago didn't suddenly change their mind. The social climate changed, and now Trump has gone Bullworth and and is telling people it is okay to dislike immigrants and say things non PC about women.

Black people make up 10-13% of the population is black but they get 39% of total welfare in the United States. Whites get 38-39% of total welfare, but make up 3-4 times the population when compared to black Americans.

So to say that it primarily benefits whites is deceptive.

Your numbers may be deceptive because you can also find numbers that state white folks make up 42% of the poor and receive 69% of government benefits. Some even consider social security a welfare program as well. But regardless of what numbers you come up with _ there are too many white folks who utilize government assistance to say that group is specifically racist against black folks... Even right wingers like Billy O even stated white people benefit the most from affirmative action and welfare.

So black folks worrying about government assistance programs is a non-issue.

Trump's success honestly has been quite surprising... Never really thought that a brash and cavalier approach would get so much public support. But it has...primarily because NO one owns him. Trump's ability to be real with the American public should show us that most politicians are owned by wealthy special interest groups that essentially dictate what these guys say or do.

    Very interesting few months ahead...
