Terrell Suggs throwing shade at Matt Schaub [Baltimore Sun]

    Not sure if in the right section.. but here is the article about suggs taunting schaub during practice.

    Ravens outside linebacker and rabble-rouser Terrell Suggs has built his Pro Bowl reputation on harassing quarterbacks, but this training camp, he has targeted Ravens backup quarterback Matt Schaub verbally more than he has in the pass rush.

    Suggs' verbal jabs at Schaub continued Saturday, when the longest-tenured Raven laid into the backup quarterback after both good and bad plays. After Schaub threw a downfield pass out of bounds, Suggs began hurling shots Schaub’s way.

    “Everything up until the throw looked really good,” he yelled at Schaub, who looked away and didn’t respond.

    Then, later in practice, Schaub completed a touchdown pass to undrafted rookie DeAndre Carter, with safety Will Hill in coverage. Suggs did his best to comfort Hill.

    “It’s OK, Will,” Suggs called out. “A broken clock is right twice a day.”

    These weren't Suggs' first barbs at the former Houston Texans quarterback. Last weekend, a string of incompletions led Suggs to remind Schaub: “Your guys are the guys in purple.”

    There were several other opportunities later in practice Saturday for Suggs to continue his onslaught, but considering Suggs took his cleats off with about an hour left in practice, he might have checked out and missed those chances.

    But with each passing day, Suggs’ thoughts on his backup quarterback are becoming better known.

    Suggs is a schmuck.

    Schaub is 2 years removed from being a Texan.

    Can someone explain to me 2 things...

    1. Why is this news?
    2. WTF does "throwing shade" mean?

    Well Matt's daddy ain't there to protect him from bullies. Of course he just "looks away". He has the competitive spirit of a can of spam.

    Suggs is probably right…but he's still a dick.

    He doesn't realize that he's only causing Matt to choke more and more…MS8 can't handle that pressure, poor guy.

    What's he going to do? Throw a punch? Get into a juvenile shouting match? Schaub did the appropriate thing. People here might be butthurt that Schaub never reached elite status and took a nosedive after his lisfranc injury, but to any reasonable outside observer, Suggs looks like a douche nozzle and Schaub looks like the bigger man.

    Shaub looks like a p***y to his team now. Maybe in real life that's the proper way to handle those types of situations but he's playing pro football with millionaire children who still live by that kind of code. You have to remember that those different rules apply and respect isn't just going to be handed to you.

    Why would a team want Matt Schaub as its backup QB. A backup QB should be someone who can take care of the ball and game manage. Mr. Pick 6 is the complete opposite.

    Schaub should have responded with how he thought he was at a Baltimore Ravens practice, not a casting for extras for Alien vs. Predator.

    probably still butt hurt how silly schaub and O.D made that entire d look in 2012. but like dierdork reminded us 1000 tmes, suggs is incredible and his first game back. =/

    Saw this a couple of days ago, While harsh, I still found it funny. But that could be my disdain for Schaub's complete and utter cliff dive. The dude was a legit top 10 qb for a few years and then got ruined.

    Suggs would have just responded with well I'm your predator, b****.

    Schaub is gutless but he at least should have told him to STFU. At some point in his career Schaub bought into the idea that playing football is like working in an accountant's office.
