That admission would have saved a whole lot of time.

100% in agreement. I just didn't see his post as complaining. The way I read it he was responding to other posters (not sure if they are from here or elsewhere) that were calling for Bregman to come up by this year or early next year. Which even if he was tearing it up for the last two months would be foolish. Bregman hasn't yet showed enough one way or another.

He's hitting .318 in his last 10. He's still adjusting to a new league. How many other position players from this year's draft are in A+?

Players frequently make large gains from one year to the next. I don't expect him to reach the majors until at least 2017, but I'm not going to guess as to what he does next season.

Thomas Eshelman made his 2nd appearance in the GCL yesterday against the Pirates. He went 2 innings and allowed a run on a steal of home. The guy who stole home also had the only hit off of him, which was a double. Eshelman also walked 2 and struck out 3.

I apologize if I missed it, but what was the reason for Eshelman (a) getting a late start, and (b) having to start off in the GCL? Most polished college players at least start in Tri-city usually, no?

Limited workload. He threw 137 innings during the college season.

ugh. worried that people will be stealing home on him a lot in the majors, on the unlikely chance he ever even makes it that far

that's half as many walks as in 137 college innings. #sssbust

Bregman can play SS/3rd/2nd/1st and likely RF/LF.

I am not at all worried about his statistics after two months and I wouldn't assume he is or isn't close to being a big leaguer.

Tyler White is a professional hitter, that is all. He doesn't strike out much, runs deep counts, walks, hits hard line drives to all fields. Just don't hand him a glove because he doesn't know what to do.

Unlikely chance he makes the majors? He was a dominant college pitcher and a high draft pick by a team that has proven to be good at evaluating talent. He doesn't throw 100 mph but he can hit 92-93 mph. He is deceptive with movement and excellent control and command. Honestly I thought he was a steal where we got him.

As far as stealing bases, there are things he can work on to limit steals.

Feliz is dealing, again. Thus far,

    5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 Ks

ERA down to 2.19 in Corpus.

There's an interesting question coming up for Luhnow in terms of post-season eligibility. Players need to be on the active roster (or DL) as of August 31 to be automatically eligible for the playoff roster. Otherwise, they can only replace a player sent to the DL.

McCullers seems like an obvious call up before September 1, but who gets sent down? Likewise, Velasquez could be a huge arm for the pen come playoff time, but who does he replace? It's hard to see Feliz making the playoff roster at this point.

Weirdly, Will Harris and Luke Gregerson have probably been our 2 worst pitchers since the all star break.

It could be time to Cut Carter, bring back McCullers, and then call up Singleton on Sept. 1. Otherwise, I have no clue what they do.

jeez, with his lack of HR's lately, I didn't realize Reed has been on such a hitting tear. He's raised his BA 44 points since his last homer.

Yeah.... Everyone assumes he is going to hit 240-250 because he has stiff hips and a really elite fastball can be thrown by him up in the zone. However he has such a great strike zone recognition and really works the count. He has a real knack for forcing pitchers to throw pitches they don't want to throw.
