The Hard Knocks Thread

Watt has always done alone practice before hard knocks came to town , the film made it seem fabricated but he is legit hard worker.

 

Thoroughly enjoyed the episode. Damn it's good to have football back, and better yet the Texans.

I've only previously seen the Texans and Falcons joint practice episode......

 

this episode did nothing to dispel Rick Smith's reputation as a powerless figurehead

 

I've noticed some people having trouble with the HBO go app. I wished i could help some how.

I doubt pumping up Rick Smith's reputation was a goal of the Hard Knocks crew.

 

Usually, the GM is involved in a lot of the aspects which Hard Knocks covers, but he was very much absent.

Im guessing that will change, but I won't be shocked if it doesnt.

 

Pierre probably should have spent more time practicing and less time trying to start fights....

I have it on my phone. It's not on the home page, just go to categories, then sports A-Z and its on there.

 

It didn't reinforce it either.

I've been saying this about Smith from day 1. His greatest asset is self-preservation.

At the same time, I believe Smith has gotten too much blame for blunders such as signing Ed Reed and extending Schaub. Those weren't his decisions. He doesn't have final say on anything.

 

Rick should have a much more important role when the episodes start getting towards the cuts. If he doesn't there then we can truly say he's just a figurehead.

Yeah it's no surprise but it seems clear that Rick does not call any shots here and likely never has.

It's just very hard to see what he brings to the table. I can't think of anything over the years that you can really give him great credit for. You could say the signing of Joseph + Manning to put our defense in 2011 over the top, but I think that probably had more to do with Wade than anything. AND we ended up being cap-strung a year later and had to release several vets.

 

i've always thought rick was tommy hagen or god's lucifer, prior from falling from grace.
I still contend if 8's arm doesn't fall off, the same amount of Probowlers that went in 2012, would have gone in 2013 and 2014. The epic damage one arm can do.
