This is a sign that you are posting way too much. I haven't said a word about Ray Rice and this is a thread about Chris Myers.

    Go home, Bobby, you're drunk.

Heh, I'm drunk? You're the one that doesn't understand why a 34 year old, small, declining, cut blocking center wouldn't have much of a market.....to most people that's pretty obvious.

Apparently most people doesn't include PFF. The real question is: does it include anybody who doesn't call himself Bobby the great?

It includes literally every GM in the NFL.....which is why his career is over.

By all means though, tell me what PFF thought LOL.

I didn't know "every GM" didn't include the Seahawks GM

"That’s why the Seahawks are still trying to sign one of the free-agent centers they’ve hosted recently, Stefen Wisniewski from Oakland and Chris Myers from Houston among them."

There's a difference between having no interest in a player and unable to agree on a contract.

He took a job in radio....if there was legitimate interest, he'd be on a team somewhere making like 20 times as much money.

Yeah. Because no football player has retired even though teams have interest. Money isn't everything. Dude has been trying to get on the radio for a few months now. He works 2 or 3 hours a day, gets to spend time with his young kids and his wife, no more injuries, make enough to be comfortable, etc.

I just gave you a quote that the Seahawks had interest (link: http://blog.thenewstribune.com/seah...at-c-g-starting-with-penn-st-s-donovan-smith/) but now you say "legitimate interest". lol

    Let's ignore facts and quotes,

SMH, you keep being you. I'm sure everyone wanted him but he decided to end his career because of a radio gig....brilliant.

No, I'm sure he had interest from a few teams but they couldn't agree on contract terms so he decided to go ahead and begin his career on radio

The vet minimum was over 900k for him, I have a hard time believing if a team was offering him the 970k minimum that he'd turn that down to take a job in radio that would most likely take him 20 years to earn that much money. If a team had enough interest to offer him a one year guarantee, he'd have taken it.

Remember Robert Smith? He turned down a hell of a lot more than $970,000. Just because most people would take the $970k doesn't mean Myers HAS to.

He was actively seeking a job in the NFL not too long ago, Robert Smith didn't look for a job and he retired because his body was getting banged up too badly. It's not the same at all.

I don't know why people seemingly can't accept that their analysis of how much Myers had left in the tank proved to be false.

Funny how statements like your last can be easily flipped around and be applied to you just as easily. No one is making the claim that he's a world beater anymore. Just that he likely has enough left in the tank that a team might show interest in him. You know, kind of like the article already posted by Nimo.

And Robert Smith quit because of physical concerns. Is it too much of a stretch to think that Myers might be willing to come back and expose his body to those same physical concerns for more than the vet minimum...but not for that little? The guy did get one good sized contract. If he managed his money well he may have decided that unless the payday is worth it, he'd rather ensure he retires with all his mental faculties. Just like several other players have done recently.

The reality is we don't really know. Because we aren't there and we don't see the conversations. But you act as if you were and you know for certain that no one has really tried to sign him. That's why everyone argues with you.

Like Raven is saying, it ain't always about the dollars. The Texans had interest in Pierre Thomas, reportedly offered him a contract and he rejected it. But according to your logic, no team had interest in him either.

Did Thomas reject the offer then retire to go work at a radio station? No, he feels like he can get more guaranteed money elsewhere, it's not the same thing at all. C'mon people, work with me here.

What if he does? Then what?

The point is that just because a player doesn't receive a contract doesn't mean teams had no interest. That's the point. You have no counter for that. Just leave it alone. I have PROOF that there was interest but you totally ignored that. Be an adult for once.

Then we laugh at him for pulling a Spreewell.

You have "PROOF" that he got a tryout....and then nothing came of that. Basically they thought they might have interest, then they brought him in and looks like they changed their mind.

IIRC I heard Myers on 610 awhile back and it seemed if he didn't get another big offer he would retire. I think a lot of football guys are choosing retiring rather then playing for health concerns if the money isn't right.

Stoked that he's back in Houston and on 610.

The only real option he had would have been Denver. He's a very small center that specializes in the ZBS. Not a lot of teams run only ZBS, you got to have a mix of everything now a days. He was very bad most of the year, and only shown signs of his former self in stretch plays and in some pull plays. He can't take on NT/DT straight up.

Love the guy though, just not the player. Glad he'll be in the sports world.
