You're like on a different plane of reality. You have a serious disconnect between cause and effect.

When your father in 1900 is murdered, or imprisoned wrongfully, or denied an education, or denied the opportunity to go to college, or denied a job, or denied a promotion, or denied the right to vote, or denied a loan to buy a home, etc. because he is the wrong race then his son, and his grandson, and his great grandson, and his great great grandson, etc. are materially affected by those events. That's not even addressing how his son will be personally affected by his race or how the grandson will be personally affected by his race or the great grandson who right about 1965 will finally get the right to vote.

The gaps that have always existed between blacks and whites don't exist as a result of personal acts in a vacuum. It's an absurd position, just absurd. And yes, white antagonists collectively caused these gaps with purpose.

I think it's also important to ask, if people realize that giving their kids stupid names can negatively impact them in life, why would they do that to their children? What perceived value is there in naming your child Upgrayedd?

Just say black folks need to have "white American" names to fit in because that's what you're pretty much implying...

But I think you're wrong because It's not the names. It's a lot of black people with names like David, Richard, Robert, James, etc who's application gets overlooked.

Your assumption that traditional American names are "white" is part of the problem.

European, white, whatever... Just the same black folks with those types of names get over looked too. So it's not the name.

No, just American....again, people with your mentality are part of the problem, and it's a fairly new thing. Black people didn't think that normal American names were "white" until recently.

And even with "common American" names black applicants still get overlooked...

But judging someone by their name is just as bad as judging someone by their skin complexion... So it's people with your mentality that is the problem. You bytch about everything that is different from you.

Millions of Americans fail to get jobs sometimes....instead of blaming it on racism, maybe you should realize that things like that happen sometimes. You don't always get every job you apply for. It's not some vast racist conspiracy out to get you. That tin foil hat mentality won't help anyone.

I didn't blame anything on racism. I was just jumping in the middle of the name game you were playing which is racist.

No, it's really not. If you give your kids stupid names from any sub-culture, you are negatively impacting their life.

Perhaps you should answer the question I posed above, if people know that giving their kids stupid names can negatively impact them in life, why would they do that to their children? What perceived value is there in naming your child Upgrayedd?

Well bobby, if there are a bunch of people who are racist towards names like yourself in this country _ they should take that under consideration.

I wouldn't hold someone's name against them because it's not like mine. Like I said, that's just as bad as not liking someone based on skin color and you're making excuses for it.

You can't be "racist" against a name, and you should answer the question.

Obviously you are... Because you're judging people based on their name. Heck, I think bobby is a dumb name for someone over 7 but I don't hold it against you.

Obviously you don't know what the word "racist" means......

Anyway, are you going to answer the question or is it over your head? I'll understand if that's the case.

I'm hoping that you were being sarcastic, otherwise you might be the most obtuse person I've seen post on these boards.

Please tell me you're of the former group.

So are you saying you can't answer the question?

Who the hell are you to judge someone for having a "weird name" you judgmental piece of ****. When I was rotating as a MS3/4 I encountered people with all kinds of names - Xiao-Yun Liu, Surafel Gebreselassie, Adoracion Palacio-Chang, and plenty of indian names I can't spell or pronounce; at no point did I judge their culture.

It's just a ****ing name, you're looking for a reason to discriminate against these people.

You have to kind in mind who you are talking to. You are expecting too much from him.
