Bob doesn't believe that. That's just his way of saying Ray has a criminal record so we're not interested. Ray has more talent than all our rbs combined minus Arian.

Not really, odds are Rice is done. There are solid football reasons to not want him on top of the off the field reasons.

Yeah I can see that. I remember when he told the media if Vince Young can play corner back then he can play for the Texans.

He's still better than our current group of backs though. Sometimes Bob McNair talks as if he himself is running a super bowl championship franchise. We will see what happens this year if the team plays as one on offense they can succeed.

Is he though? People say that as if it's s statement of fact and it's really not. Also, Foster isn't expected to be out for long enough to where a deal for Pierre Thomas makes sense, why go after Rice for just a few games?

Anyway, I'm sure some would think Chris Meyers would be good enough to get a job in the NFL based on his name so it doesn't surprise me that some thing Ray Rice is still good enough based on his name.

Does McNair apply this logic to the draft?

For the umpteenth millionth time...in the season before he was suspended, Rice was on a clear path downward. Barely over 3 ypc. Then he sits for a season. Why does this make McNair "an idiot" or anything else when he believes that the backs they have in camp currently fit this team better?

It's nothing more than people looking for excuses to attack the franchise.

The Ravens OLine was absolutely terrible. I wouldnt blame his YPC on his decline in ability. You dont average 4.5 ypc for 4 years then dip to 3.1 ypc in one season. He was 26 years old at that point, it's not like he was 31 years old and over the hill.

Also, for those siting 2013 as a drop off year for Rice and the reason why he's no longer a viable option.

As mentioned, the Ravens OLine was horrendous that season.

    Look at Bernard Pierce.

    2012: 4.9 ypc
    2013: 2.9 ypc
    2014: 3.9 ypc

This right here clearly shows that it wasnt purely on Rice for the drop off. Ray can still play just as well as most of the top RBs. He might not be top 5 like before, but he's easily in the top half. Plus, his pass catching ability is top notch.

Ray Rice is done. It wasn't even his offensive line that was trash, he stopped trying. He half ass blocked the rush and just didn't look like he cared when he played.

People are avoiding him because it'll be a circus when he signs with someone...not because he forgot how to run.

Oh come on...he stopped trying to block the rush, lol.

I forgot that he was amazing at 5' 8" in trying to stop 250 lb lineman from getting to his QB.

It's a convenient excuse to not look at him (I don't really care either way), but it's not like the Ravens as a team were any good that year. Especially when it came to running the ball. Bernard Pierce went from 4.9 YPC the year before to 2.9. Last year? Guess what, back up to 3.9.

From 2012 to 2013, the Ravens also had a lot of negative turnover on their OL:
    -Pro Bowl Center Matt Birk
    -Starting Guard Kelechi Osemele
    -Starting RT Bryant McKinnie

2013 was also the year Jim Caldwell finally got to fully install his craptacular offense.

Like I said, it doesn't really matter to me. I trust BOB, and I fully understand all the non-football reasons why nobody would want to sign Ray Rice unless you're Browns level desperate. But to dismiss him as completely washed up at the age of 28 is kinda teh dumbz.

If we wanted to start scouting pass catching, pass blocking RBs, we could do a lot worse than bringing in Ray Ray for a tryout.

Not true at all, if he was good, he'd have a spot. AD had child abuse problems.....but he's awesome, so he's got a job.
