I understand what you say, as he was old, but it was fun to listen to that combination, and just Harry saying the names of some players, was fun.

What i liked about McCarver and Palmer is they had strong opinions.

Now, there is one that is good, not mentioned, Bob Costas

No love for Joe Buck? Hawk Harrelson? Jerry Remy? Tom Grieve? Chip Caray? Alan Ashby?

You have to give some respect to people who can be unbearably terrible at their jobs and still have seemingly permanent employment.

Sure... if you appreciate drunken, clueless, and slightly racist commentary. Very similar to Milo's last years, except Carry was being broadcast to a very large cable audience.

I'm trying to figure out if you're saying that Vin Scully is unbearably terrible at his job.

Well, he hasn't done regular baseball PBP since the 90's... and even then, it was largely just for the playoffs.

He's gotten slightly more insufferable in his now older years.

I was somewhat speaking in jest. And sadly, I was remembering Milo too. Milo seemed more subdued and boring late in his career. Carry was making random comments, but infused with random bursts of energy. But that's just my random memory at this point..not sure if accurate

It really is crazy how unlucky we have been on this road trip. Would love to see the BABIP numbers.

I'd go so far as saying, he's gone full Joe Buck at this point

Yeah.... WGN (or any TV network) wouldn't get away with that in today's social/widespread internet world.

Its part of what makes Scully that much more impressive... he's still holding his own in "this" era (where even if some minor league commentator makes an amazing call... or an awful call... it makes its way onto the internet in some way/shape/form).

You know times are tough when we have 2 pages of broadcaster talk in a game thread during the 9th inning.

I still remember harry talking about Sandberg and singing when he mentioned his name. Harry was fun, and the good combo with Stone was that stevie was the serious one, while the other was the funny crazy guy.

Well, we all knew since the 6th inning Bumgarner was going to finish this game, so we had to entertain ourselves.
