Michael Freeman wrapped up Lancaster's 8-0 win by striking out 4 over 3 perfect innings.

Teoscar Hernandez was a hot name last year who had a rough first half this season and hasn't been mentioned much the past few months. In the last 30 days his BABIP has really started to normalize and it's looking as though he'll finish a few HR short of a 2nd 20-30 season.

Maybe he doesn't fit into the organization's long term plans being that he's another high strikeout guy. But it's nice to see his production (and trade value) on the up and up.

He's been downright wild since getting to Corpus. 4 walks in 39 innings. That's almost 1 per 9 IP, he's gonna have to tighten that s**t up.

With that sort of control, would be an excellent call-up option for the bullpen...

Wait, Musgrove wasn't included in the Gomez trade? I thought he was. That makes me happy.

Hader & Houser were the pitchers included in that deal.

One can only hope he can keep it up. As an avid sports fan, I have always found it wise to always bet on an athlete with good genes/bloodlines. They seem more likely to succeed if they are highly touted and have all of the measurables. The main reason is that they are usually so advanced mentally. Seeing a parent go through the ups and downs of a season and not get too emotional about it is a huge plus IMO. Being around locker rooms and games most of the kid's life only helps. It is a huge intangible for kids of athletes.

If they were highly touted and don't make it, it is usually something physical or lack of work ethic that they couldn't overcome. The mental aspect is such a huge obstacle to overcome in any sport especially baseball. Daz seems to have all of the physical measurements of his pops while being fortunate enough to experience the pro life a little growing up which is invaluable.

This is why I fully expect McCullers to bounce back when he gets his next start. That kind of start could debilitate some pitchers but I think Lance will be able to brush it off and get back to business next start. He will have his own growing pains along the way but at least he can reference how other professionals have responded before.

There are some exceptions to the bloodlines theory as MJ's kids never amounted to much on the basketball court or any other sport for that matter. I guess the baby mama wasn't an athlete which is a shame.

Daz Cameron hit an RBI triple in the first game of Greeneville's doubleheader, and it appears that he was thrown out trying for an inside-the-park homer.

Daz is going to be a monster.

    I keep dreaming of a Tucker/Cameron/Springer outfield…

    Reed/Altuve/Correa/Moran infield…

    Castro at catcher. :(

Bregman too. System is still plenty deep.

Yeah, I figure if Moran can't cut it, Correa moves to 3rd and Bregman goes to SS.

Correa might be the better SS of the two. Bregman would then be the one moving to 3rd.

Castro won't be here much longer, IMO. He'll be a FA after next season.

I thought I heard he could be non-tendered after this season?

Haha. Seriously though, if he and Tucker start at full season ball with Quad Cities next year, that's already a success. If either of them make it to A+ Lancaster next season, that would put them way ahead schedule for most HS draftees.

I think he's only signed through this season.
