Bad guys are all under one roof.... the Russian mob boss, Armenians and those were Eastern European and group of cops (Holloway I guess was his name and the black Police chief that died at the train station)

Those guys that also killed Velcoro

Frank was a gangster who tried to maintain a positive profile (anti hero)

Good thing that Frank's wife and Ani Bezzerides are still going strong

Emblematic of the dissheveled mess that this show was, the guy's name was Burris, Holloway was the police chief.

Ending was as much a letdown as the whole season. I'd put most of the blame on the script. No matter how this was acted out, the plot was going to be convoluted.

I'm not even sure how much footage was put into "solving" the initial crime. Felt like so much exposition about the bar girl, the photographer brother (kudos to someone calling that out earlier in the thread), police chief's tell all.

I also think the expanded cast hurt them in terms of developing characters.

    Overall, good not great.
I think some parts of the show were a let down but there were some really good parts. I thought the Colombian/Bar chick was going to kill Bezzerides out of jealousy.

Kept thinking something similar, seemed like they were playing it that way then nothing.

Why didn't Frank just politely say no to the guy asking for his suit, and just walk back to town... sure he would've been dehydrated and had a slight headache, but thats a helluva alternative to bleeding out in the desert.

The sophomore record syndrome. Critics and fans alike will dump on the sophomore album simply because it didn't live up to the debut all the while years later come to find out the sophomore follow up in a vacuum is still pretty good.

This 2nd season had its fair share of issues no-doubt. Some bad lines. Some mis-cast actors. Some plot holes. Minor characters who were treated like major characters. Overhead freeway shots. etc. etc.

But all in all I think the show we saw the past 8 weeks is better done and acted than 95% of the bullcrap that is put on TV nowadays. I was thoroughly entertained, and will continue to watch season 3.

No point in dissecting the entire finale. It was what it was. A good ole fashioned mob/cop drama in the end.

The diamonds worth millions were in his jacket pocket.

Mexican drug dealers who Frank made a deal with earlier in the season. He let them deal out of his club to put him in contact with the prostitute who pawned Caspere's stuff.

But this season was a letdown overall. Convoluted story with way too many sub-characters. Hopefully they can come back strong next season.

Well that was a disappointment in about every way possible.

How many times this season were you saying to yourself "Who the **** was that guy?"

How ****ing terrible was everything about Frank Seymon?

How do I wash this season from my brain?

[Frank Semyon 1950's Film Noir Detective voice]

You can't kid, once you make the play, you gotta live with the turnip farm you bought, you feel me on this one?

I actually found it strangely satisfying that such a ridiculous character got such a ridiculous death scene.

He was stabbed where the diamonds were stashed. Convenient coincidence - they had to remind the audience why he didn't give up the suit in case people were confused (which according to this thread they still are, even with the crutch).

I think 50% of the people who hate the season so much just aren't really following it. It is complex. Overly-complex? Sure. But there's payoff hidden in that mess.

In the end I liked it a lot and hope they do another season. No it wasn't nearly as good as TD1. Yes the dialogue was weak and at times painfully bad. But to me this show was still better than 95% of everything else on TV.

Thought the ending was great and would put the final episode in the top 3 best TD's I've seen (TD1 included).

Vaugn's lines were weak, especially early-on. It was bad, but Vaughn in this role overall I actually liked quite a bit. He'll get more serious work out of this too, regardless of if TD2 flops.

It wasn't great but it wasn't as bad as some make it out to be.

There were plenty of issues at play throughout but it's a bit more coherent when it's watched as a whole, watched the marathon yesterday and things made more sense, much easier to remember who was who.

No I understand that, I'm asking why Frank didn't just say no to the guy asking for his suit, and just take the walk back to town.

He had to know punching the dude in the face wouldn't end well for him..
