This: your spot on ! If you watch the team when they are losing they are joking around as if they have no worries in the world almost like they don't care.

That is incredible.
Is going to be difficult for us to beat the Angels, they have a leader in Pujols, and best player in the majors in Trout, they are not going to let the team lose. They also have one of the best managers. We have talent, but no leader yet (we are young, so that is something to expect). We have 25 games on the road, the way we play those games, we can go 8 and 17 easily. That means, we have to win around 19 games out of 25 at home. That would give us 90 wins, and that number should be enough for last playoff spot. But winning 19 out of 25 is going to be very difficult.
Wow, that is 3 month and 1/3, worse road team in the majors. If that trends continues (and i have not seen anything to say otherwise) Astros will not make the playoffs.
Yeah they appear to try to have the persona of being a loose bunch but they don't play like it on the field on the road. Sign of not being quit mentally there to be seen as real contender. It's mainly the position players though. This pitching staff has done their job and are pitching well enough on the road for the most part for the team to still win more than they are.
McHugh has been very good on the road and only has a 4 and 4 record. Well, a .500 record on the road probably makes him our best road pitcher
Altuve is young, but is the "veteran" on the team with 5 years playing in the majors and 3 All Star appearance. He needs to improve and carry the team to the playoffs. You need to have GREAT at bats every time you are up there as some of them are so awful you would not think he is a .300 hitter. We need more consistency from him. We should not expect that leadership, yet, from Correa or Springer, they are learning to be major leaguers.
Snap out of it? This is what they are. A bunch of dogs on the road. I swear every player takes a big ole can of quit with them when they play away games. The manager is going to have to use his psych degree to turn this around
Silver lining is most these road games are close... we're close to winning these games. At home, we usually win handily. Team has already shown a precedence of great road play this season. Logic says Stros won't be as dominant at home, but will play much better on the road. Should be a formula for getting a Wild Card, minimum. I still think we take the division.
yet he is the only that hit close to .500 in the series. it's a team wide thing and I don't know how they can break this without getting springer back. what would the angels be like without trout? springer's impact was that huge for us before he went out.
We sucked on the road 2 months (May-June) WITH Springer. George's return will help, but him in the lineup isn't necessary to turn things around. These road games are mostly close, Stros just slightly better luck and hopefully regain their confidence away from Minute Maid.

ouch. my eyes hurt just reading that. to put it in perspective that's like chris carter taking the plate every time we could possibly score a run.
It is unacceptable that the Astros have not addressed the first base issue. Just too much garbage in the line up.
I'm really not worried. We are losing a lot of close games on the road. Some clutch hits will happen, and we will pull off some of these wins. The fact that GARM level panic and "these players don't care" has taken over the forum means at least people are interested again.
You have a point there but we acquired a former All Star in Cargo plus got Lowrie back. I think the Angels need Trout more than we need Springer as we have a better team.
That is my trouble with Altuve, no walks since July 22. The only way he helps this team is by hitting .340
