I like that our first 4 hitters are batting .290 or better...but then I see the other 5 hitters smh

It's as if our offensive game plan is hope Altuve gets a single and have Gomez/Correa/Lowrie drive him in, then hope we get one solo shot from Rasmus/Gattis/Tucker/Valbuena/Castro. Rinse and repeat for 4 runs total.

Is there a stat that keeps track how many of our steals have resulted in successful runs? I had altuve with 5 runs after stealing second, but I stopped keeping track in june

Better than it was. Remember Valbuena was our 2//3 hitter for a little part of this year.

Marisnick is a solid #5 OF on this team. Outside of his defense there is really nothing to be excited about. Easily replaceable and within the next few years he will be dealt or let go.

Yes, and Valbuena is hitting much better (less power) in last 30 games.
Also, Tucker is hitting, his problem is Defense and Castro is doing better.

Gattis is driving some runs, power is down this year, hopefully he will improve on that in last 2 months.

And Rasmus has not had a bad year, i think better than average.

Our problem is playing on the road, lets hope yesterday's game is a turning point on that aspect.

Same reason Brady Anderson could never hit 50 HRs again. It was just a flukey month. Chris Carter is much more likely to go on a tear like last year than Marisnick is to be a good hitter anytime soon.

I still think Marisnick is a potential regular centerfielder. He is just 24 and only has 577 at bats in the majors, more or less a full baseball year.

He has the tools, speed, some power, defense. He is very young. Many players at that age are in Triple A. Not all guys have the ability of Correa.

In the minors he ALWAYS played younger to the league, and did good.

Will he be an All Star? Probably not, but i think he will be a good center fielder.

He was probably our #2 OF back in April. Feast to famine.

I dont think it will take years for his fate (on this team) to be decided.

Guys...No matter what, we dont have CoCo Crisp on this team so even if we only won 40 games, I am happy about that.

If we resign Cargo, then Marisnick will be traded. A team like San Diego could use a guy like Marisnick.

All Marisnick needs to do is hit .260ish, his defense is that good.

I, The Beard, vow not to respond to Cangre when he quits on "his team" in the first inning tonight.

Is Gomez better than Marisnick defensively? I don't think anyone can cover more ground than Jake but after that catch by Gomez last night he may be the better glove but I'm not even completely sold on that either. If Jake could just give us something offensively and with him in center Gomez in LF and Springer in RF? Best outfield hands down.

I agree, he is a centerfielder. Is Gomez not willing to play LF when Jakes in? Or is Hinch decided that Gomez is now our CF'er?

Gomez was clear when we acquired him, he would play any position and bat anywhere in the lineup. He just watned to play, and win
