With Ty's situation and Beverley's injuries, you would think Morey would hold on to that 3rd PG although he has burned himself before with sending AB away mid-season for Hamilton, for example.

If we can't sign him, Luke Ridnour would be a solid signing

Brooks asked for a trade I believe. He needed to get playing time to get him a larger contract

McHale brought up a few times how he was the biggest film room guy and broke down a lot of film with the coaches.

Thornton isn't a point guard or have point guard ability, just a shooter/scorer. He also doesn't give us the veteran experience Terry does.

When there was no help defense on that very last game of the WCF when Terry was covering Green, that gave Terry a demerit to think about when it came to choosing between suitors.

Those aren't the only two options.

Signing Chuck Hayes over Jason Terry was a terrible move..Imo. Signing Terry should've been priority, he hit many clutch shots for us last season!

No defense and limited offense is not better than some defense and limited offense.

Thornton is not bringing what Jet did to the locker room.

If JET doesn't come back my Bands of Brothers poster will be a slightly more ironic than it would be depressing

There is no way those two are comparable on offense. Terry can still knock down shots from anywhere.

So I guess JET isn't gonna take Morey's non-guaranteed styx.

Yeah but lets not forget that Howard and Ariza are 10 year vets that have both been to the finals, Ariza winning a ring, we also have Hayes and Brewer who are good locker room vets, Harden has been a legit superstar with almost no off court issues (unless you consider his love for big butts to be a prob).

And to top it all off, McHale is the biggest locker room cheerleader vet you could ask for as a coach. I don't think loosing Jet kills our locker room... we also lost Smith, so does that balance things out? lol

Terry's value comes in mortivation, morale and three point shooting (hopefully most of the time).

His defense can be a weakness, but at the same time in big moments, Terry can come through on defense and make a huge play at a crucial time that fires the team up or saves the day.

Terry's main defensive weakness is playing his man. He's actually still really good at playing the passing lane and getting steals.

I used to hate the guy when he played for the Mavericks and killed the Rockets every game, but he really grew on me as a Rocket and the heart that he brought to the games. Occasionally he would frustrate me as well, but that seemed to be more of a rare occurrence.

I'd like to have him back if possible.

Well I think the experience and character are both positives, I don't think they are as important now that the Rockets have been to the WCF and have added another high character veteran in Chuck Hayes.

On a similar point I recently had a lay over at the airport and noticed a former Rockets assistant and all star big man whom was stuck on the lay over as well. Mud informed he is not going to be on the bench this year and instead is working as a big man coach/scout on his own. He has recently worked with the Raptors center and has worked a lot with Clint Capela. He is very familiar with the Rockets and we discussed what the team needed. He said the Rockets didn't need more experience or veterans. He said the Rockets need more mentally and physically tough players. Now Jet is tough, but so is Hayes.

Not sure how well he would translate to limited minutes with Rockets but I love his shot and ability to get it off.
