Bush pretty much gets by on his name it's pathetic. Cruz did good but does not look like a presidential candidate. Kaisch won't win the nomination but he is the most presidential figure up there. They will end up with some dope who will get de-penis-ed by Hilary.
What debate were you watching? Rubio and Huckabee helped themselves the most. Carson, Christie and Cruz not far behind them. Bush and Walker just treaded water. Kasich was just kind of there. Trump and Paul hurt themselves badly.
Not really surprising tbh. A lot of middle aged Fox Viewers were banging those cassette tapes in their teen/early adult years.
Chrisitie- whinny Paul - smirky Cruz - annoying Walker - bland Huckabee - emotional Kasich - forgettable Jeb - swell Carson - lost Trump - Trump Rubio - winner winner chicken dinner
Might not know much about politics , but I'm smart and besides the Bible will tell me what to do wrt to taxes, foreign affairs and the economy etc. His appearance might help book sales especially in the Bible belt. Rand, Cruz, Huckabee, Christie are toast and big losers. Cruz is just too weird and Rand seems shell shocked and testy that none of the billionaires go for him. Kasich and Rubio are the winners for the role of Jeb's VP. They did well and are from Ohio and Florida where the Repubs typically steal the elections if they are close. Trump has staying power especially since he brings media ratings and has the outsider thing going, but he can't fund against the Koch bros and their boy Walker or Jeb although he might be able to get Adelson's money if he promises to something crazy like nuking Iran for Israel. Trump could self fund, but he doesn't really want the job. Like Palin it would be too much work and detract from being a celebrity. Jeb is the tallest and has the most billionaires and mainstream corporate backing so he will win unless his brother's legacy as a moron is just too much to overcome.
That debate was pure comedy. These are the Republican Candidates? Hilary Clinton is the best Republican Candidate, shows how far right the democrats have moved.
Didn't watch but I imagine there were some exchanges between Christie and Paul? Christie has hated him for a long time.
Regardless of where you stand on the issue, it is absolutely ridiculous that the question of racial issues / police brutality was only asked to one candidate, and up against a commercial break no less.
I think you pretty much nailed it: at the end of this cycle, the Republicans will coalesce around Jeb, and the vp will be the Florida or the Ohio guy. Another Bush in the WH is another real possibility. Before anyone laughs, remember George. Jeb talks like a scholar on comparison to his older brother.
I know I shouldn't be, but I am absolutely shocked that one of these people will be up for a presidential nomination. Nothing of importance was "debated," it was unbelievable what comments were coming from their mouths in the year 2015.
Awful performance from Rand. I think Rubio worries Clinton the most. Cleveland audience seemed less hateful than past GOP debate crowds. Probably better for them to stay out of the old south for these things.

I liked Rubio the best of everyone last night. 2nd was Kasich but I don't know if the home field advantage played a significant role in that. I'm indifferent on Bush and Walker. Thought Trump dodged questions fairly well yesterday. Christie and Cruz did ok. I don't really like Paul. Carson looked way out of depth. Anyone's got an opinion on Huckabee? I'm no politics expert so any objective insight will be appreciated.
There was one exchange between them over the NSA wiretapping issue. Christie doesn't support following the constitution, Rand does.....yet some thought Christie came out looking better for some reason.
This is a double-edged sword for the GOP. On the one hand, you're garnering record interest. On the other hand, you're garnering record interest at the worst possible moment.
The whole field did a pretty decent job, except for Rand Paul who looked flustered and weak. Rubio looked good on his off-the-cuff remarks, but I glazed over during his canned, rehearsed answers. I thought he sounded like every other politician with his canned remarks...in other words...he sounded terrible when rehearsed. Carson was the exact opposite of Rubio. Carson was terrible with off-the-cuff answers but sounded great with his rehearsed ones. I thought Jeb did as good a job as he could have hoped. I am surprised he is not considered one of the winners of the debate. Just the fact that he looks and sounds a lot smarter than his brother should have helped him quite a bit. Christie looked pretty good up there. He may have done enough to get his momentum rolling again. Walker just doesn't do it for me. Putting all his views and record aside, he just doesn't look like he is presidential material. I thought Walker was one of the weaker candidates. Trump...I knew Fox News was a wing of the GOP, but that debate and the way Trump was treated was ridiculous. Megyn Kelly purposely acted like a b**** to try to get Donald to react. Fox is clearly trying to sink Trump. I thought Trump had a few terrible answers, but I think he held his ground pretty well. I think Fox made a big mistake by skewing that debate against him so much. It was overt skewing, and I think that will turn a lot of people off. Kasich did well but it just showed more Fox skewing. Kasich is clearly one of Fox News' guys, as he was the 10th out of 10 but got as much airtime as anyone. He was also lobbed up some of the best softball questions anyone got last night. I think he probably got more airtime than Carson and Huckabee combined. Huckabee had the line of the night with his Hillary joke, but man that guy is crazy. He is affable and crazy, which is an interesting combination. Overall, I came away more impressed than the 2012 candidates. I think that the winners were Jeb, Rubio, Christie and Trump. The only loser was Rand Paul, with Carson and Walker not far behind. Trump 2016!
Rand on that graph looks similar to how much speaking time Ron Paul used to get. And here he thought some pandering to the Republican Party would help, but no.
