[Police State] Cop kills an unarmed kid over 10 grams of weed

He's white, not a story.

 

Tell me about. The first I hear about the story is on here.

 

Actually you should blame the media, people are talking about it on social media (GASP! EVEN BLACK PEOPLE!) it's the media that decides not to run the story.

Maybe it's the GOP debate that's taking all the thunder of the moment. Only thing I can think of for that.

 

Make it a story.

 

If you want to make it a story, go organize. Setup a vigil, protest peacefully in the street, etc. Posting about it online doesn't do anything. That is what people did for those police shootings that got coverage. I am glad #BlackLivesMatter has been spreading this story and calling out the people sitting on their ass complaining.

 

Pot should not be illegal.

 

The Black Lives Matter protests were ignored until they esculated into riots. ****, when white people riot over a sporting event the media rarley touches the story.

 

You guys hate black people so much that you ignore the fact that a kid (white kid) is dead that probably shouldn't be.

Question the media on why it's not getting coverage and stop sitting on your thumbs waiting for black people to protest for you.

If the adult wasn't intentionally and knowingly participating in something that he knew was illegal (regardless of our stance on MJ), we wouldn't be having this issue.

If the officer did fire at someone in the back when he shouldn't have, he'll get what's coming hopefully.

Again, there's no need to make it a story. It would only be a story if the kid was black because there would be a presumption of racism. Without that, the assumption is that the kid tried to run over a cop and got shot. If that ends up not being the case, it'll come out in court. No reason to burn down a town.

 

If cannabis was only legal, we should not have been waisting tax dollars on a this type of sting operation. Not only the hours of setup and patience but the court costs for trial and to feed him while he is jail. All for 10 grams?

 

Hammond's death also highlights a truth many white Americans seem reluctant to face: that police violence can affect anyone -- their white friends, cousins, brothers, sisters, even themselves. Though bad policing may take a disproportionate toll on communities of color, the calls for reform now being voiced loudest by people of color would benefit all of us.

Many people in the Black Lives Matter movement have been saying this since the beginning, which is why, in the absence of much mainstream media coverage, black Twitter has taken the most active role in making sure Hammond's*name and story are heard.

At least those racist black folks care about the kid.

#AllLivesMatter is just a thinly veiled racist disguise that only pops up whenever black people organize to support one of their own.

It is absolutely astounding when people get jealous and petty about things like this. Racism is not dead.

 

What do you mean "again"? You're the one complaining that it is not a bigger story. It isn't because certain folks would rather complain on Facebook or ClutchFans as to why the story is not big instead of, again, protesting pescefully, vigils, starting movements, etc. That is when the media says, "oh man stuff is happening over here, let's go'"That and having footage for many of those other shootings makes it more vivid for people. Black Lives Matters has done their part in getting this story out and now people, like you, know about it.

 

I'm not complaining that it's not a bigger story, I'm pointing out why it's not a bigger story. There would be no more reason for it to be a bigger story if he were black, but it would be a bigger story. That's my point.

Those who have made big deals out of situations where someone either attacked a cop, or threw themselves around in the back of a paddy wagon and ended up breaking their neck have embarrassed themselves time and time again....but they'll never learn.
