I think i would use Lowrie as a leadoff hitter, he takes pitches, walks, and has a nice average. Altuve is more of a hacker, so hit him in the 6th spot and look for him to drive runs and hit .290.
I never thought that a poster who was worse than swoly and tinman combined could ever exist in my lifetime.
Hey guys, how do you put someone on ignore? Never done it and can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
(A TLDR post coming... fueled by frustration from another frustrating road loss) You've made this exact post quite a bit... about him being awful on the road, him being awful behind the dish, him being awful as a right-handed hitter... you were joking all those times? I could just as easily say its the same "vapid crap. Bring something new and entertaining next time." (Your words, not mine). Bias means I've seen more constant criticism of Conger from you than any other Astro player thus far this year... in a year where there's plenty to criticize all around. You've mentioned a lot of team losses lately... which I certainly agree with... but u still manage to get the individual dig in. I can tell you're a huge Castro fan as well... you've done a great job of alerting people to his turnaround over the last handful of games. That sometimes helps sway the bias. I'll certainly drop all of this because its really not worth it to "defend" a backup catcher (who happens to be killing right handed pitching). I'd like all these guys to play up to their potential at all times. I'm still a Qualls/Sipp fan, despite the over-blown melodrama that occurs here whenever they get inserted, because I understand the importance to team success with having these guys doing their jobs well. My main issue with Carter was that I thought last year was a fluke while everybody else assured me it wasn't, so I guess that's the one player that will continue to frustrate me to no end. I feel the Castro/Conger combo has worked out quite well this season... both have the ability to catch all pitchers, which can keep them fresher, allows managers to put them in favorable lineup situations, and can lead to potential turnarounds at the plate for either of them throughout the season. I'd love it if they could somehow figure out a way to get them both in the lineup... the manager being an ex-catcher probably helps more than hurts that position here. Alright, rant over... Rangers suck. Astros won't have to worry about them in the playoffs. KC and NYY (or Toronto) will be far more annoying opponents.
I believe the Astros will solve the riddle of the 1 run flu real soon...can't wait for Springer to get back in the lineup. Very well might be the full on injection to get them over the hump for good
True. The roster still has major holes offensively. Guys like Valbuena and Marisnick shouldn't be playing that much with a complete and healthy roster. Hoping eventually they allow Jed to be the everyday 3rd baseman soon.
I just did it... and I can't see your posts anymore! J/k... you can do it via the user CP at the top, and then look on the left-hand side for edit ignore list.
Agree with you, but there is one problem, the ballpark. That is a great pitching ball park and is going to be very difficult for our lineup as we are an all or nothing team. With that problem, a 2 and 2 is more realistic, but we are so bad on the road that a 1 and 3 record would not surprised me. Before the road trip started, i said 6 and 3, as i thought we had nice pitching matchups against RAngers, all except the Gallardo/Fiers matchup. A 3 and 1 series with Oakland and a split in SF. Well, after the first 3 games, things look all too familiar and my predicition looks like it will not happen (we need to win 6 in a row). Right now if we play .500 on those 6 games is going to be more than good.
No, but they are only 1 game in front (loss column) and allowed the Rangers to be in the race for the AL West, plus we have 6 more road games.
No, they didn't... and they likely won't despite being a bad road team. This is still part of growing up for this team... the fans have a lot of growing up to do as well.
What a difference a few days makes. You were just applauding the guy for his epic turnaround the other day
