Wasn't she drunk at a casino? And she was a pretty low ranking cop. Not sure why she'd be the one they'd call for a high profile murder investigation
I actually thought Kitsch would make it out, but then the slow-mo started I've been on board since episode 1 and have enjoyed the ride - I think the payoff will be better than what we got with Carcosa in TD1. Looks like our 3 remaining leads won't go down without a fight. I find myself rooting for Frank and Velcoro. Can't wait for Sunday.
Kitsch discovered the body, the body was in Bezzerides' jurisdiction, City of Vinci/Velcoro reported Caspere as a missing person. That's how they all got involved. And her character is a sheriff, definitely not low ranking.
I tend to agree with you. Season 1 gave all this mystery buildup along with the great acting and character development. In the end, the mystery was only half solved, but we were all okay with it because the rest of it was so great. This season is all about the plot, so it's probably going balls to the wall Banshee style action (well, maybe not that crazy, but I think it'll be good). The good guys win or everyone dies...who knows? But there will be a lot of blood.
The corrupt police and Attorney General put the three in charge of the murder investigation because they figured they would be frameable scapegoats. They were all blacksheep within their respective departments.
He saw it in the house right before the person in the scarecrow mask shot him. I'd say that person has it.
I don't even care what the payoff is, I'm enjoying the ride this season so far even way more than the first; actors, story, scenery, everything. More comedic elements too, this season is perfect for me. This last episode especially, I'm really into this one.
Yeah, seems pretty clear at this point that the brother/sister pair from the diamond heist is working to bring down all these corrupt folks. The bird mask was probably the brother and the sister is the one they saw in the photograph. Working within the mayor's office and moonlighting as an escort to get blackmail material on the various corrupt officials. They murdered Caspere, Dixon died in the drug house shootout, there's what like two other guys still alive from that heist? Anyway, pretty sure the brother/sister have the hard drive. I can't come up with a reason Velcoro would have had it all this time and not said anything.
Yeah but then it would follow that Burris has the hard drive, which doesn't make sense that all these other people that he's associated with would be looking for it.
The humor is lost on like 99.99% of the viewers it seems like. I genuinely love the humor this season. Coen brothers aren't attached so nobody expects or "gets it". **** like this scene below from last season that make you laugh.
For those needing a recap of what all has been going on, this is a great detailed write up... http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2015/08/03/true_detective_season_two_a_guide_to_the_plot_of_this_confusing_season.html
I found this pretty sweet recap of what has happened in this season up to this point. Thought you guy's might want to read it. Didn't think it had been posted in this thread yet. http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2015/08/03/true_detective_season_two_a_guide_to_the_plot_of_this_confusing_season.html
Combo Breaker!! How disappointing how he died after he took out that mini-squad. Always felt it was going to happen. Damn camper!!
Reading this actually got me to appreciate this season more after being so down on it..if only the direction and narrative was clearer for the audience from the beginning. The show did too much telling and not showing. Half the important people in that recap have one brief or no appearances at all. It ends up being a jumbled mess. Now I'll be able to watch the finale finally knowing what the hell is mostly going on.
7 episodes out of 13 and already too many characters.....too much confusion to be honest with y'all I know it is a TV series but that is just too much
