Guy was playing a dangerous game- he egged the cop on and bruised the cop's ego and power trip with the filming. Police need to get over their phobia of being recorded on video.
The comments on the video are hilarious. Accusations range from the officer being a violent sociopath to a psychopath on a rampage. Cop pulled his weapon, ok, but he didn't point it at the person filming, nor was he overly authoritative in any way.
Yeah, there's a winner in Austin who is doing this regularly. Cops are trying to keep the peace on 6th street on a Saturday night, and this tool is in their face with a cell camera just generally antagonizing them. He just got arrested for like the 6th time.

A lot of cops are a**holes. Certainly not all, but a fair number. But there is absolutely nothing good that can come from arguing with a cop, even if you did nothing wrong. And being openly antagonistic is begging for a bad situation.
I can't figure out why the cop drew his gun. Seemed a little over the top. Good news is that it didn't go anywhere. Guns are dangerous if you pull them. Even if it's at your side it means you can react quickly. Reacting quickly to most stuff isn't necessary. That cop did fine, but it's worth looking at if I'm the PD in that area. No need to cause problems drawing a weapon. It's the same thing as putting up your fists and not swinging.
Still not sure what the guy did for the cop to pull over and investigate. The cop was a bit overzealous in drawing his weapon, but the guy was acting super weird. The cop probably shouldn't step over the trailer hitch like that because he easily could've lost his balance had the weirdo advanced on him suddenly, and the cop shouldn't turn his back to him either. I also think he was a bit premature in unholstering his weapon. I'm still on team cop for this one. Guy is just acting too weird.
