Besides Hawaii & Cali, those two are too obvious.

    For me it's Colorado.

Just got back from a road trip to Avon, CO, with a stop on the way there and back in Santa Fe. That drive from Santa Fe to Avon was unbelievable. I will be making it more in the future.

Northern Arizona and Utah. All of the area around Lake Powell is just awe-inspiring.

The Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park destroys everything else.

For me it's Arkansas. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. I've never been through Colorado/New Mexico/Arizona. Hopefully one day I can make that drive.

Did roadtrip from Fargo ND to California in 2006 with my cousin. I can attest that southern Utah is absolutely breath-taking. Camped 2 nights in Zion and made the drive to Bryce. Just incredible.

I love driving Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Utah & Arizona as many have mentioned. Those states truly are incredible.

For some reason though my favorite drive is West Texas before the terrain flattens. Maybe the big skies and desolate open space landscape make me feel like I'm in an old western. Something haunting and painfully beautiful out there.
