It's not the shoes Paul, its you. Wearing Jordan's won't give me mad hops. Wearing Kobe's won't give me the clutch gene. Wearing Melo's won't get me a silky mid range game. Wearing Zoom Hyperfuse's won't give me incredible handles or a quick release. It's not the shoes, it's player.
I had on my Curry's Under Armour shoes while playing 2k and I went 7 for 7 from the 3 pt line in the 1st half... Took em off because they hurt and went 0 for 5 thereafter... So I feel you bro
OP, in response to your thread title, I would advise *against* a solid basketball shoe. A shoe needs to be able to bend and flex when you run and jump. A completely solid shoe, like one made of stone, would really reduce your ability to react to conditions in the game.
I think traction of the shoes is quite important. If you are slipping all over the court it doesn't matter how good you are. The ones with circle traction patterns are pretty good. Also if you are wearing crappy shoes your feet will hurt.
I know what you mean, I haven't bought a new pair of BBall shoes in like 2 or 3 years now because i'm too cheap to drop 100 on shoes. So now all the bottoms of my shoes are completely flat and full of dirt, when I play it feels like i'm sliding on freshly waxed floors wearing buttered up socks sometimes, it completely kills my defense. I also rub wholes into my skin leaving parts of my feet raw if I play for extended time. So yeah, shoes can be important lol. But still, they won't make you like Mike, or Paulnhbtx.
After years (6 years) of not playing, decided to give it another go and play in a league. What are the best shoes right now in the $85 - $100 price range? Last shoes I wore were these: Actually looking at the new Harden Vol. 2 (How are these?) What would you guys recommend in that price range, that is light and comfortable? Thanks in advance
