Agapito Barrios and Dean Deetz both making their debuts from QC tonight.

Barrios went 5 scoreless (1 H, 3 Ks) and Deetz has gone 2 scoreless thus far.

Why do people care so much about lists of prospects?

Forgot about Smith. Surprised Kent Emanuel didn't beat him out among guys that are hurt.

    That's outstanding. The last paragraph:

In the current media environment, a list is perfectly designed for our brain. We are drawn to it intuitively, we process it more efficiently, and we retain it with little effort. Faced with a detailed discussion of policies toward China or five insane buildings under construction in Shanghai, we tend to choose the latter bite-sized option, even when we know we will not be entirely satisfied by it. And that’s just fine, as long as we realize that our fast-food information diet is necessarily limited in content and nuance, and thus unlikely to contain the nutritional value of the more in-depth analysis of traditional articles that rely on paragraphs, not bullet points.

Woo! I was excited about it.

It was nice to finally see an actual, recent scouting report about him. Now we at least have *some* information abount the current state of his arm and his future position on the field.

I still don't understand the scouting reports that label him with "gap power" and a "line-drive swing." I love the idea of a quick, compact swing, but he's already shown adequate power and has plenty of time to add more.

Paulino throwing well in his Lancaster debut. Another fast riser in my personal rankings.

We may drive Buck up the wall with all this talk of rankings and lists and whatnot. :)

Nah, it's cool. I love reading actual scouting reports on guys and then checking out video. As long as you're mixing that stuff in, keep on keepin' on.

I'd like to see a ranking of the prospect lists. Get on that.

...while Drellich and JdJO alternately talk on their cellphones, do the wave, reach over the railing to interfere with fair balls, and get up to go get concessions during a half inning.

Well no trade. Glad we kept him. Are there any contact/whatever issues that would prevent the Astros from calling him up?
