As for him taking over the Fausto role, maybe so, maybe no

I said when he was first moved to the pen we wouldn't really know the plan for VV and Lance until the trade deadline passed. Just because he has sat in the pen and only worked once in the last week, doesn't mean that is the role they have planned for him. We should know more by tomorrow night

Fiers is going to be in the rotation, Luhnow has already said as much. And why wouldn't he?

If they want to move Carter, they can move him. Terrible year, but at his age and history of power, teams would take a chance on him easily

    By himself, he's virtually worthless.

We'll need to make one spot on the 40 man, right? Domingo was the only departing player on it, if I'm not mistaken...

No, we already had an open spot.

    When/If Springer comes back.

    Springer
    Altuve
    Correa
    Lowrie
    Gomez
    Gattis
    Rasmus/Tucker
    Valbuena/Carter/Singleton
    Castro/Conger

    That lineup is sexy.

    lol, no he isn't

He is around here, because we are all tired of watching him

But a 28 year old who hit 37 hr last year, 29 the year before and even as horrible as he has been this year is on pace to hit 27, a team that is not in the race right now would be more than willing to take a chance on him

Yea, I could see either him or Jon in a deal to SD. One of those guys and a prospect for Alonso and Benoit

Why have I not heard of Phillips until this thread and now I'm mad about losing him? Lol.

I first read the trade and loved it but some of you people are making me second guess it. Anyways, most importantly it's an obvious huge upgrade to the big league club right now.

Agree to disagree...but you're wrong. He's garbage despite the power...and why would a team "not in the race" give a crap about him??

Negative WAR (or hovering near) doesn't net you much of a return in a trade.

Well, yeah... you can certainly let him do his thing on a "bad" team... that's essentially what the Astros have done the last 2 years.

But this year is different... with Lowrie now back, I don't think there's going to be a lot of AB's for him as it is.

Anybody worried that Springer might not be able to return this year?

Make sure you have read what I was saying

I didn't say I want to see him in the lineup, I just said if they wanted to move him they could move him. Wouldn't just cut him

    Lol, ok man

Not sure where I said he would "net us much of a return", but they wouldn't cut a guy they could move
