I can understand him trying to take the blame, but that was a piss-poor way of doing it. I can't wait to see how we do the next time we face him...

Richards is just a little upset that he was out dueled by a 21 year old.

He signed this year to be the SS as no one expected Correa to be ready this fast. Next year he was going to start at SS and Correa at triple a, and then after the All Star break it was going to be Correa, probably, and there was the move for Lowrie. Then, in the third year, Moran at 3b, with Correa SS

Ok man, I just know that when he was signed, he said he knew he wouldn't be the long term SS here

I seriously doubt that him and Luhnow had it all planned out that exact like you say. He knew he was not going to be long term SS, and was willing to sign here because he wanted to be here

Probably Lowrie did not, but Luthnow yes.

In the past, he was like that with prospects, the difference this year is we are in a battle for a playoff spot, and prospects are better than what we had playing when injuries or ineffectiveness happened, examples:
Lowrie (injured) Feldman (injured) Wojo (ineffectiveness) Villar (ineffectiveness) Because of those things, McCullers was brought up (Straily struggled at the beginning of the year at Triple A) then, same with VV. Then, Lowrie got injured and Villar was killing us, especially defensively, and the same thing happened. I really think Lowrie was thought to be our SS full time this year, with Correa playing at double a, and maybe brought up to triple A.
Moran, Double A. Next year, Lowrie at SS and Correa and Moran playing at Triple a, but probably Correa going to the majors at the end of the year, with Lowrie helping him in the majors. Then in 2017 Valbuena is gone and Moran plays 3b, with Correa SS and Lowrie becoming a great utility, all positions.

We've seen Luth moves prospects slowly, and i like that, and i think Lowrie was brought here for the second year start moving to SS and give way to Correa, and third year start as 3b and give way to Moran. If Moran struggles a bit, we have a guy playing 3b because for that moment we were expected to fight for a playoff spot. I don't really think many thought we were going to make the playoffs this year, yes, many of us believed we could play .500, but not the playoffs.

I don't question many of Luth moves because i think we have one of the bets GM, and this year he brought a lot of competition, Rasmus, Valbuena, Straily, Conger and built a bullpen, plus this year he ADJUSTED and moved prospect faster than he did in the past. We have to feel proud of our GM, and it has not been like this since we had Hunsicker

    Singleton's last 7
    .316/.417/.526

He could be figuring it out.

Hate him or love him, getting some first base production and Lowrie back could make August a fun month.

Yea we continue to score runs, but because of how we do it many of our own fans still don't like our offense at all.

Don't get me wrong, i'd love to add another good bat, but we are going into August and are 3rd in runs scored. Offense isn't perfect obviously, but it's not the huge problem so many make it out to be either

And I don't want to hear about "Great Pitchers will tear us apart in the playoffs" because the facts to this point in the season are that we have handed Aces as well as anyone

people just like consistency that's all. i'd love to see the home/away splits on those though. seems like our home offensive production is vastly superior to away production.

52 home games, 236 runs, 4.5 per game, ranks 7th in baseball in home scoring

50 road games, 217 runs, 4.34 per game, ranks 9th in road scoring

Ranked 4th in scoring before the ASB

Rank 7th in scoring since the ASB

I'd love to add a bat, but the offense is good enough if we don't

Another Ace and a BP piece could be the difference in the end

That road production was skewed by our fast start. The Astros over the last two months have looked more like the Rockies in Home/Road splits plus their record in one run games has regressed towards the mean. I agree a SP and RP could help as well, just hoping our internal solutions start working out.

It's crazy to say out loud, but the truth is we are in first place with many important pieces either injured or nonexistant.

The additions of Lowrie and Springer, plus Singleton potentially figuring it out, could be more impactful than any trade we could probably make.

And I'm still waiting for Valbuena's BABIP to reach a sensible level. He's almost 100 points below the league average. Terribly unlucky.

hm that definitely doesn't seem so bad after all, but we did have a ridiculously good start to the season on the road. we've been struggling to win on the road and score runs lately, minus the red sox series. outputs of 12, 1, 4, 9, 0, 2, 1, 1, 0, 3, 4, 1, 1. tough to evaluate since springer and lowrie have been out though.

using wRC+, we're average at 14 in the league for away games, but 4th in the league for home games.

definitely agree on the pitching aspect. i love our team, but with the AL wide open, i think it's even more crucial that we make a move to improve. i'm seriously hoping for a trade with the padres at this point.

There was a graphic during the game yesterday; something to the effect of the Astros hitting 164 HR's and being 4th overall vs. this year hitting 138 HR's and that being 1st overall in the league.

    Lowrie DID man, he DID

He talked about it, he said he understood it and was fine with it

    JED said that, Mr. Lowrie
