Ideal thought process. Add Montrezl to that list, then Terry and Chuck can be the vet push for leadership together to repeat/better last season. I would bet Murph is ready to get into Ty's ear, too.

PS - Anyone else going to lose their s*** when the first pic surfaces of Montrezl and Dream working on footwork?

Carlos Boozer is definitely a better offensive player, but he's much worse defensively. He also seems like a crappy teammate and he has zero leadership qualities.

Elton Brand would've been a decent get. I assume he wants more than to be a 3rd stringer though. I'd also guess that he might be looking for slightly more than a vet minimum contract. Plus he's 4 years older and has played almost 3x as many NBA minutes in his career than Chuck. That's a lot of mileage on those old legs.

    Rasual Butler is a SG/SF.

    100%, I Can't agree with you more.

For those wondering why Chuck has a "Chuck Hayes Basketball", it's cause he runs a bball camp for youth, similar to Harden. You know who else is going to Chuckwagon school? All our bigs and anyone else in the NBA that tries to heat up their post-game on the Rockets next year. No more Griffin absolutely abusing Josh Smith. Hell nah. Chuck will come in for situational minutes and shut that **** down.

Chuck Hayes has a Chuck Norris rug. Norris isn't dead, he's just too afraid to move.

Let's find a young playmaking wing to develop, high scorer who needs to learn how to play D. I love Chuck, but his time is up.

He really has been out of shape the last few years. It's almost like he stopped caring after he received a decent contract and became complacent.

Having said that, even an out of shape Hayes can be beneficial for spot minutes when an opposing big is lighting up one of our interior defenders. And if he shapes up and plays like we have seen him being capable of, he could be extremely helpful to the Rockets championship chances.

+1 in liking this signing, especially for the vet minimum.

Who are the available players that meet these criteria? The traits you just listed sound like those of a lottery pick to me.

We're in win-now mode. Why do y'all wanna add more young wing players when we just signed 2 in KJ McDaniels and Sam Dekker? We needed a 3rd string big man and some veteran leadership. That's what Chuck brings. Now what we need is some veteran guard leadership to counteract Ty Lawson's question marks. That's where re-signing Terry comes in.

    So. much. more. this

On first page I see one poster dislike this signing saying this move doesn't move the needle. WTF. You expect a vet min end of bench signing to move the needle? Seriously.

The Chuckwagon will be nice when playing against LAC with Griffin or the SAS with LMA and West AND Duncan (that's an impressive front court...).

I wonder if he's gotten rid of the hitch in his freethrow shots yet.

Chuck Hayes will be in shape and he will be ready to do what he does...... keep quicker and younger guys from getting post position .......... passing well and.. every other game jacking someone in the jaw, neck or balls for getting overly cute or dramatic.

    Chuck don't play around........
