I would just rather give up VV if it meant Ross and Kimbrel would be coming here. Not against just want to maximize the return. By the way, how are the Dodgers getting away with the grand larceny in their now three way deal with Miami and Atlanta?

We "should" be very good for many years to come, but you never have any guarantees And there is no dominant AL team this year. Agree on McCullers. He shouldn't even be discussed And I don't "want" to see VV go, but if he is the price for Price, then let him go We won't have a place for ALL of our prospects, that is the think that some people don't understand. There are already former Astro prospects having success in other places, that we got absolutely nothing for
Something like that. We would have control over the both till 2017... So I can see it happening. Take away one of the top prospects on that list or two and add some lesser and maybe.
Not saying I think that will happen, but if you are getting two controllable stud players, 3 top 5 PROSPECTS isn't that steep of a cost
Doubt that happens, but i'd be all over it if we could pull that off Would have best rotation in AL playoffs, and a pen that could match any
I would be surprised if we don't see a guy or two off of the major league roster involved, if we do indeed do something Not many guys left we could just DFA, or send down.
Oh, I understand...but to me VV is hardly a prospect anymore though. Technically maybe he still is at this exact moment. Do what you want with those still in the minors, but this kid is a major league pitcher. Power arm on top of that. And who besides deshields have we lost for nothing in the last couple years?

By a lot do you mean you are getting a Top 3 closer, a guy(Ross) whose metrics suggest he will be better with our defense as well as control over both for the next two years. Sir that is not a lot. At this point, I think Ross may end up being better with our defense than Appel will ever be. Philips is a good player, but that is what it takes to get proven commodities. What scares me about VV going further is his inability to get MLB guys out in favorable counts. He is a complete project right now. Villar will never be an every day MLB player but provides a utility guy moving forward for the Tigers that still has some upside. I think that is a great trade that end up pushing Neshek and Gregerson down an inning making them that much more valuable as 7th and 8th inning guys.
It really depends on what "top prospect". Honestly I would give up Appel and Santana and filler for Ross and Kimbrel.
