A "formerly dominant" pitcher? lulz Won a world series 8 years ago. Double lulz These are the metrics you measure a current pitcher by? I shouldn't even be responding to you. Cole Hamels is an ace. Period. You keep on wishing to collect prospects, the rest of us see that the time is now to use said assets to win NOW. LOL @ we have enough to win the WS as constructed. Yeah, maybe....that doesn't mean you stand pat...we're hardly a juggernaut and we DEFINITELY need to improve.
Apparently that moron Ortiz has something to share, but you should probably not expect anything earth-shattering
Why would Crane give that dude any information at all? I could only see it if the trade just happened and the news is breaking immediately. If not, that guy deserves to be flamed.
The Astros are not going to give the Chronicle or that clown a damn thing. They even went to SI for exclusive stories over the Chronicle. They are about to reap what they sow... It is likely the Astros will be very good for years and the Chronicle burned bridges already.
After all that fake-ass suspense, Ortiz sends out a clickbait tweet. And... Crane really didn't say much, either. Like he'd share any insight with the Chron... "Hopefully we might add another guy or two before the deadline on Friday.”
Best offer I'd give for Hamels would be Appel, VV, Kemp, Singleton and probably throw in Feldman just because Astros don't have room on the 25 man roster Keuchel, Hamels, McCullers, Kazmir, McHugh!!!!! Would not give up Phillips or Reed for anything. Probably would not give up both Appel and VV for any of the other rumoured deals (Ross, Gomez, Kimbrel, Lind, etc)
