    No, that's #MoreyLogic

You pay for rare talent, and you let replaceable talent go. It was part of the decision behind not paying Parsons. While Parsons was a good player, he was replaceable, so they did.

DMo's skill set isn't easily replaceable because it's incredibly rare so IMO they'll pay him.

If Dmo becomes and All Star, his nickname becomes White Dream.

Great. Now we have MOFs.

Can't wait till ZBoy and Tinman crash this party. Epic thread in the making.

Nice answer! I thought I put you on the spot, and you delivered. I don't think we should start featuring midrange just so DMo gets his points though.

As it was he was already scoring 15 per 36, that means give him the minutes and 3 points worth of improvement and you have 18. A couple more touches in the post per game would probably do it.

Not on your life. There will always be ONE Dream that's a Rocket, and the gentleman, while retired from playing, is being kind enough to help the franchise he carried to two championships.

As a nod to his heritage and the fact that he plays the power forward position, I think the nickname "white power" would suit him well.

The thing i never hear talked about is little things that are really big. like play from either low block most bigs prefer one side or the other, even Dream. And can still go to the middle or go base line because he is so good with both hand, what does that do for playing with other bigs.

DMo is going to get PAID - the cap is going up, he is a skilled big, yeah, he will be expensive to keep - he really needs to step it up this year, or I think we lose him to someone willing to let him be the focus of the offense.

Knowing Morey, He will probably let Motiejunas walk like Parsons and just keep wheeling and dealing. His replacement will be first booed on this board then praise incessantly once it pays dividends.

You mean at first people preferred Parsons over Ariza?

I would feature it with ty Lawson when harden is on the bench or when we really need some buckets and nothing else is working. Not saying it needs to be a staple to our offense but the threat needs to be their... Meaning DMO has become an elite offensive player and is a threat from anywhere.... It's possible but in order to jump from good player to Allstar is not easy as we all know.

I'm on the fence I think it's about 30% chance he makes that jump from good to Allstar which is actually pretty decent odds. Even if he doesn't make that jump he's still a very good rotation big def somebody that would see playing time on the Spurs imo and that's how I value bigs. If you can play in San an your a good smart player and that's what we need.

Our team is set harden/Howard/lawson in theory is a good enough top 3 too win a chip. We just need the role players to perform up to expectation and of course health.

Yep. This board was crying last year when Parsons left and the collective cringe against Ariza was full on. It was only dispelled when Lord Threeza arrived.

This thread is about DMo becoming an all star. Maybe DMo developing a midrange might help him become an all star, but I still don't see it as being all that important to the team success. I'm alright with him sticking with his post game and 3 pointers.

If DMo was as easy to replace as Parsons, I would agree with you. He's not though.

This is a real good point in my opinion. I bet it would be very tempting to DMo to go somewhere where he is featured.

But he has to make that part of his game available in order to become an allstar IMO. If he can knock down the mid range jumper that means dmo has gotten a lot better overall as a player. Not saying the rockets need to change their philosophy for him unless of course he turns into Larry bird from mid range lol.

I will say this about dmo, all the great players in the league have one thing in common, their all instinctive players who can pass and read defenses. This is something I do know dmo has, which is quite rare. He is a very very good passer for a big and sees the floor very well.

I agree I don't want the rockets shooting 42% mid range jumpers all game either but it also wouldn't hurt for dmo to be one of the top 5-10 bigs in the NBA at shooting the 15-18 foot jumper. It just makes the rockets that much more dangerous with teams knowing that dmo can burn you in the post hit the corner 3 at 35+% or his the mid range jumper at 40%+.

I no you know basketball and if he was that big of a threat on offensive then he easily is an allstar caliber player weather he makes the team or not and that is what we our discussing isn't it?

Morey isn't letting D Mo go anywhere.
