Man if Cleveland was in the west they wouldn't make the WCF. Lebron can literally sleepwalk to the finals each year
Umm, you can say that about many games during the season. Did you count that the Rockets played the Cavs without Kyrie? Or the Pacers without Paul George? Or the Spurs without Duncan and Manu?
No arguments here. But I can see why the Spurs might be ranked higher than the Rockets. Lawson is a variable. So is Aldridge. The authors of the poll probably think Aldridge will work better in San Antonio than Lawson in Houston.
Yes I counted those games. The Rockets starters missed more time than any other starting five last year and we still won 56 games, we were much better than our record indicates.
I hate these pre-season rankings. They haven't played a game together yet and even when they do who cares what they rank us at.
It's all speculation anyways. Doesn't mean squat. It's like the "Rockets wouldn't have won those championships if Jordan was still playing" crowd but to a lesser degree. You only get credit for what you do not what you could have done. I'm not saying I agree with the rankings, I'm just saying I can understand how they came up with that order.
For those of you closing on Cleveland, just understand this; you can NEVER count out a team that has Lebron from being in the top 3. The man is just that great at basketball.
Preseason rankings are useless. ESPN didn't even have the Rockets making the playoffs last year. They thought losing Parsons, Asik, and Lin would destroy us, it's only been a year and I sometimes forget they were ever on the Rockets, lol.
I honestly agree. Especially after last season how they ranked us 7-9th in the West. But, seeing this today definitely shows we've gain some level of respect, all without 2 starters.
I completely agree with those that say preseason rankings are pointless, especially this far from the start of the season. Having said that, GSW is 1 and HOU is 2 until proven otherwise on the court.
Dorsey, Johnson, Papanikolaou and Prigioni played a combined 376 playoff minutes? Wow. I thought it would have been less than that. We really gave up almost nothing for Lawson.
http://www.rantsports.com/nba/2014/09/14/predicting-final-nba-standings-for-2014-2015-season/ i was reading some different pre season rankings. geez this guy really called it LoL
For those of you saying how great at basketball Lebron is, just understand this; you can NEVER count out a team that has LeBron from getting past the Leastern Conference playoffs. That conference is just a joke. In all seriousness, I understand what you are saying. Cleveland should have a high chance to win the title because, out of all of the good teams in the NBA, they are the only one in the Eastern Conference, thus have the easiest path to the Finals. If they were in the West, would they even be in the top 3 of the West? With GSW, Houston, San Antonio and the Clippers, plus you can't forget Memphis. I'm not saying they wouldn't be, but I'm also not sure if they would.
The nba is pumping him up his game gets aided by the refs severely especially in playoffs. He's a beast but I don't believe he just makes a team... that's the nba making that part of his game that crucial. Rockets are a better team.
LMAO just awful. Golden State at 9, lol behind the Nuggets and Suns because they didn't make roster moves, lmao.
