You like Hammett, FB? So do I. So here's a treat, if you haven't read it. The late Joe Gores, winner of 3 Edgar Awards, wrote a terrific prequel to Hammett's The Maltese Falcon with the permission of the Hammett estate. The title is Spade and Archer. Check it out. You won't be disappointed. Interesting fact - like Hammett, Gores was once a private eye himself.

    Couldn't find the 2015 thread.

Reading Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. Anyone else read this? Looking for a lot more to read.

Just finished Proxima, by Stephen Baxter. Brilliant! Going to start the sequel, Ultima, very soon.

    Bump

Just finished Hell House. Awesome book. Just started getting into the horror book genre, and this is my favorite thus far.

That is a nice trilogy. Easy story but not to childish.

I am currently reading the witcher series. I am at baptisme of fire. But i will have to wait for the next to be translated (since i am reading them in dutch).

I just finished Riyria chronicles. Also a nice easy read. Fun characters and a nice story.

Just finished Seven Eves. Not a "keep you up at night" page turner, but a book that will have you thinking for a few days, particularly the first part.

I just finished "The Queen of Bedlam." This is the second book in the Matthew Corbett series. I found it just as entertaining as "speaks the Nightbird."

The next two books in the series are excellent as well. I didn't like the most recent book though.

Currently reading Nemesis Games by James S.A Corey.

Thoughts on it? Is it as good as RPO?

Read Brad Thor's Code of Conduct and followed straight into Terry Hayes' I am Pilgrim.

Like them both though I am Pilgrim is probably better, the two are based on basically the same idea.

About a third of the way through. Not as engaging as RPO yet. So far, it is like The Last Starfighter.

I read that last week. Not quite as good as RPO, but it was highly entertaining and I hope there's a sequel. The ending seemed to leave room for one.
