I'll give this one to you if we don't come back. Next time you declare the game over in the first inning and we come back, I'll get back at you :p

At this point the way the Royals are crowding the plate I say send a message. Cain would have been my target.

Would love to see Velasquez come on and solidify the pen. Qualls has been better lately. Harris and Sipp seem to be not as dependable as needed recently. Felt some of the young arms would be needed eventually to set the pen.

    Then they hit Correa.

Sending a message is overrated when it is always met with repercussions. I'd also say them winning the series mitigates any "messages".

Keuchel untypically hit hard early; offense doing a lot of nothing. Dropping yesterday's game hurts.

Na, the message wouldn't be about winning the series

The message would be "back off our hitters or risks yours too"

Couple of guys going into the HOF today could tell us a little about the value of that

2 loses, 2 total runs scored. Frustrating when the offense gets into the famine mode even though we know thats how its been this year

Hope with some of the injured players coming back and possibly another bat by the trade deadline, this team can get more consistent offensively. Hoping somehow all or nothing players like Carter, Singleton, Valbuena, etc. will have their playing time greatly reduced. No team in the AL is really a world beater this year. Astros have a great chance if they shore up the offense.

Valbuena's BABIP is .198 this year. That has to regularize at some point.

Speaking of BABIP, Keuchel has been a little fortunate in that department this year, it was only a matter of time until the gods sent one of the games where a lot of hits found holes.

A guy that pitches to soft contact and ground balls will always have a low BABIP.

That isn't anything out of the normal.

Actually guys that give up ground balls have slightly higher BABIPs, but the hits are less threatening.

Fly Balls turn into outs more often, but they also turn into homers and doubles.

I like Valbuena quite a bit

If the 1B situation is rectified we could stand his all or nothing bat, and his glove is nice

Don't have a problem with anybody pitching inside (including the Royals)... but doing it recklessly or on purpose simply for "spite" is r****ded.

Nothing wrong with commanding the inside corner of the plate... I'd still rather win the series.

Who said anything about not wanting to win the series?

Some things in baseball are more long term than "right now"
