Lawson is really really good. Think of how much more room he will have to operate with the whole defense still focused on harden. I can actually see Lawson avg 18-19ppg with 7-8 assist. The whole right side of the court will be wide open for him to wreck havoc.
How I think we could run it now Ty(24)/Beverly(20)/terry(4) Harden(30)/Thorton(9)/kj(9) Ariza(24)/Brewer(16)/Thorton or kj(8) Jones(24)/Dmo(24)/ Harrell(garbage or ass whoopin min) Howard(28)/Capella(20) I think with Ty we are able to conserve minutes a lot more since we will have another playmaker and deep bench We should really chill with how many minutes everyone plays so we can try to avoid injuries and gives players a chance to mesh with everyone I want Capella to get big minutes and become the guy behind howard
You know last night I was thinking the Rockets must have the worst luck in the NBA. Not to mention all those injuries with Yao and Tracy but now after all that they now have a loaded roster with no holes and they're still not the best team in the west because the spurs and the clippers also got a lot better and the Warriors still mange to keep Draymond Green. Any other year this team would be walk for the finals.
Here is my rotation when Lawson and Howard join the team Lawson/Beverly Harden/Lawson/Brewer/Thornton Ariza/Brewer/Harden Dmo/Jones/Ariza Howard/Capela/Dmo You can go defense with Beverly, Brewer, Ariza, Dmo, Howard. Offense, go with Lawson, Thornton, Harden, Ariza, Dmo. Small ball with Lawson, Harden, Bewer, Ariza, Jones
I would like to see bev and Lawson on the court at the same time just like brooks and Lowry used to do.
If you did Bev, Lawson, Harden, Ariza, Dmo you'd have two of the best penetrators in the business surrounded by your best shooters. The drive and kick game would be amazing with the spacing this would create.
Any word from Lawson himself? I read he's in re-hab, so understand why there's been no 'unveiling'. But also haven't seen anything from him in his own words. ie no social media, phone interviews. Or is re-hab a complete media blockout? Also does anyone know how serious his alcohol problems really are? (I mean he's been more than decent the last few seasons). Read the Denver GM's comments. But is he a party guy having fun (and he stupidly drove and got caught) or does he have a genuine problem/illness?
Oh and lastly - will Lawson effect or influence the current squad (with his behaviors) or will the existing Rockets players influence Lawson and hopefully curb his drinking/partying? ie. We know Harden likes the nightlife - so will Lawson be a negative influence and effect Hardens game?
If he were out making media comments, twitting etc, I would be worried he isn't concentration on tackling his disease. The outside NBA world should be the last thing on his mind if he wants 100% recovery.
I suppose that's part of my question in terms of how bad he is. He was a functioning NBA star. So is he just a party guy that got caught drink driving or does he have a serious problem reaching for the bottle when he wakes? (hopefully I'm wording this all ok and not offending anyone) And I didn't necessarily mean twitter or social media, but even a club endorsed release ie something from Ty like "I'm really grateful to Houston... can't wait to play alongside James.... but right now I'm concentrating on my re-hab". etc Yes by all accounts rehab is No 1 priority. But in today's world I just found it strange that there is zero coming from his camp. (But that might not be a bad thing!)
It isn't uncommon for addicts to be able to function as a way of concealing the destructive behaviour. In today's media age, I get why it seems unusual but probably the right move to just stay quiet.
