He saying it will be "harder" on his family - may be true. If you are used to making 10 million a year and you have a lifestyle reflecting that (who knows how expensive his lifestyle is) they may certainly not necessarily be maintaining that on his current salary.

Would making an extra few million make it easier? That seems to be a true statement. But yeah, you shouldn't mention that when the people watching you make so little.

Kinda glad he's gone now tbh. Could have been an issue in the locker room.

Josh to the clips continues to have me scratching my head. Did he really get his feelings hurt? Did the rod just flat not extend an offer? We gave him a new lease on life and freedom. Will,he get that in Clipper land? First few games he chucks and Paul will be chirping in his ear. I just can't see how Clipper land will be better for him.

This is what I got from it. He was moving his mouth, but in his head, he was like, "Why do I got to do this every time? At least I don't have to say anything about AAU..."

WTF it is completely in context, he really is talking about the money, he never mentioned anything about leaving his family. However he did preface it by saying it's not about the money because of the Detroit situation, so I guess it begs the question why he'd even make the quote anyway since he's really not getting vet min, he's still getting paid by Detroit.

    TLDR: Josh is confused.

The media and internet are trolling Josh. He's not a bad guy. Spree was a well-known jerk.

Josh took the MINIMUM, and he still gets trolled. That is just hater behavior.

Well he assumed Dekker and Harrell were gonna gobble up the remaining minutes when in actuality they will spend most of their time on the Vipers in the D-league. He left without calling anybody so yeah he is a "bad" guy because he is a jerk.

He said Houston was the perfect situation, and he was beloved by fans here. Houston offered more money. Somehow his agent got him to believe competing with Terrence jones for playing time would be a detriment on his next contract.

If you truly fear losing your playing time to Jones.....or you feel playing with Deandre is better than playing with your friend Dwight.... I feel his agent played him on this one in the hopes of landing a larger contract next year.

But it's on you Josh. You left more money and the great situation because you did not want to compete with Terrence Jones.

Agree, Josh sucks at interviews. Maybe one day we'll know why he really left, but as many have said here, his time with the Roxs in 2014-15 took him from being the GOAT of the NBA to a Play-off HERO. It's very curious why he would leave what appears to be a perfect situation for less money.

Now, he's got to prove himself again with a new team and a new system. It will be interesting to see what kind of minutes he gets. With CP at PG and Blake wanting to be a point forward, I wonder if Josh will get many opportunities to handle the ball?

Well, this is my last comment on a Smith thread. I wasn't super excited when we signed him, but besides FT shooting he won me over. Now I'm moving on and going to put my hopes into DMo, TJones, Dekker and Montrezl or whoever Morey conjures up next.

I'm going to go with him saying another move for just 1 season is difficult for his family.

    Clearly talking about the money.

I'm not really sad he is gone. I think we need more stability from the PF position than his play provided. We just need Dmo to get healthy and stay that way.

Sorry for the confusion. I didn't mean the acronym. Instead I was referring to this definition, see #4.
