They obviously didn't think this was the last season. I didn't mind the ending; had that twilight zone feel. Fun series. It's shame they didn't think it was worthy for a longer run. I think I might prefer these miniseries events. Tell your story. end it. get out.
I felt like the ending had very little build up. I get that there were clues, but I would have been fine with Spoiler everyone dying, or some other kind of ending. The kids overtaking the adults and destroying the abbies, it just seemed like they wanted a shocker for an ending. It didn't do it for me. Oh well. I know I wouldn't have been satisfied with a happy ending either. There had to be turmoil, but there also had to be some kind of resolution as well.
I was waiting for it and of course it happened.....ugh ah well it was a decent way to pass some quiet Thursday nights
Finally Saw it . . . .. it was ok Nothing special . .. it entertained me for the 10 hours it was on Spoiler I actually liked the ending You don't get to destroy everything with your suspicion and need to be in control then get the happy ending Which is what they were kind of pointing toward with PAM and Kate (The chick Matt had the affair with) Alot of people died because of her and her crew . . .and Matt Even if they were right . . . .The Kids didn't care I did not buy Pam killing David either. . . kill your brother like that . .. nooo She was a b**** for like 3/4ths of the season now she compassionate? Honest? From Zealot to Savior in the last 2 and 1/2 shows? naaa. . . didn't care for it Rocket River
Yea...that whole series was pretty pointless. Matt Dillon must be desperate for work or something. The ending episode felt like I was watching the climactic scene from "30 Days of Night" but not nearly as well done. At least they had the good sense to go into it with the idea that there would only be one season.
I think if they knew Fox was going to hold on to the series for so long then release it as a "Summer Event Series" they would have definitely ended it better and wrapped it up more. I didn't mind it though. The ending we got screamed second season that wasn't going to come. oh well. I don' think they went in thinking it was only going to be one season.
They had it all figured out with a new story going for Season 2..... I do not think they planned this just as always the ratings were not good enough
Books are worth a read, sounds like they screwed up the series with a total plot deviation by trying to come up with an ending that could could stand on it's own or be picked up from if the series was renewed. Ooo... a book reader, I forgot, am I supposed to be in my own thread?
Yea...I am wrong. I thought I heard that somewhere when the show came out. I read something about the novels were being written the same time the show was being filmed. I may have interpreted that as only being enough material for one season. But, yea, it almost always comes down to ratings. Based on who died in the finale, even if you didn't know it was the series finale...you probably figured it out then.
