IMO you almost have to start Lawson. One of the rockets biggest problems last season and beyond has been turnovers. Lawson was #2 in the league in assist to turnover ratio behind Chris Paul and Harden was #63. The team needs ball control in the worst way and Beverly is not that type of PG. Unleash Harden in the 4th quarter to close out games.
The dunkers like Howard, Jones and Capela will feast on sweet feeds from Lawson close to the basket. Going to be fun to watch.
There are 22 complete idiots on this board. Who wants to take a bet some of those are Lin fans that voted no?
It's up to 22 votes now for NO? I can understand some reasoning for voting no BEFORE we knew about his 2nd year being non-guaranteed but after that how can you still vote no. There is almost no risk at all now, we pretty much have the same team last year that went to the WCF but with Lawson who we don't have to pay next season if he doesn't pan out on or off the court.

This is a moody and negative board. I admit biting to the naggyness when we didn't land a pg during trade deadline, but I'm reserved in the offseason because this is one of many early phases in Morey's season. There is no word. If there was one given, it'd be collusion. The league does something like it anyways...
Now that we have Lawson, all the more reasons for Dwight to buy into PnR offense and leave the posting up to DMo.
I've been thinking about this backcourt man. They might be the best. Two players that like to play downhill and lawson's speed is ELITE. Harden will be play more like Durant in his MVP season. Durant played a lot off the ball with Russell and Harden on the court. I think he lead the league in scoring and his shooting percentages were at its best. I'm interested in seeing how a defense is gonna stop these two attacking guards. The only West point guard that excels on defense is Russell Westbrook, He's the Thunder's best defender. I think Lawson is gonna kill Parker and Curry. When we had Dragic he destroyed Parker. I just don't understand how do you STOP THEM BOTH. And even if you do there's Dwight.
It also helps that its a new team new place and a fresh start. Being stuck in a rut in life, which he was on a team that was going nowhere can trigger bouts of addiction ( preferred poison). You often need something to look forward to and have aspirations that help you get through the grind of day to day life. We never heard of these problems from him when Denver was a force in the western conference making playoff runs. Playing on a team that already has Harden and Howard and went to the WCF last year should give him a boost and bring out his best.
Durant actually won the MVP last year, but your idea of Harden seeing an efficiency spike is one I think is very possible when you look at how super efficient he was his last year in OKC. I wouldn't expect those percentages because his volume will be up, but he will get more open looks than he ever has in a Rockets uniform and he is a very good spot up shooter and is a devastating penetrator off the catch. He created more of his own scoring opportunities last year than almost every player in the NBA and now he will be able to take advantage of having another creator on the team of his caliber. Lawson is not in James' league as a scorer and overall player, but he is just as good or better at creating for others. Scary thought.
