I'm just glad we have a team that will not guarantee a role to anyone. You earn your role every game. I do think that Josh did that during the playoffs but even that doesn't guarantee your role when a guy like DMo comes back.
Lawson definitely changed my mind on Josh Smith. I wasn't really torn up by Josh Smith leaving really, because I think he's such a volatile player. But, I saw we had 3 rotation-worthy power forwards and one had to go. And I thought it had to be Terence Jones in a trade for a point guard, leaving us with Motie and Smith at PF. And with Smith going, it meant we couldn't really trade Jones, or if we did we'd have to find a second-string PF somewhere. But that we got Lawson without giving up Jones means we're still strong on PF. Sure, if we had Smith, we could trade Jones for something else. But, between Smith and Jones, I prefer Jones.
I primarily judge the character of other men by how they respond to sports related news. Solid strategy.
I guess that's where we differ. I thought Josh fit perfectly with this team. Either way, I've learned to not get attached to players. They are mostly assets that can be moved or decide to move themselves. Jones might not even be on this team in March.
