Oh snap - no way we don't bring Harrell in,right? I like Wood, but Harrell seems like a much better bet.
Did you see him play last year? He was barely serviceable when he was with Houston a couple of years ago, and now 2 years later he should be worse. If we are looking for good teammates, then we should hire him as an assistant. And anyway, talent wins championships!!!
Lol, I'll never froget Chuck's 2010-11 season. Our defensive stopper and getting triple doubles at the same time. Those days are long gone and he's going to be here just as a locker room presence.
This. Chuck has made Blake his b**** every he's played him. The guy is real strong. It's gonna be great to have the charging fouls he draws on defense. Him and Shane were the best.
Basketball IQ and veteran presence > low ceiling potential/contribution from your last string big man
If one has to go, I say let it be Wood. He is going to need a ton of work and looks more comfortable in the half court game. Walker is probably even more raw, but he appeared like a natural running the floor and his athleticism was as advertised. Both should be signed by Vipers if possible. Rockets still need one more catalytic player at 4/5 preferably another 7 footer, Hayes is stopgap more so than a solution.
another added benefit is seeing another quality poster in HayesFan being more active again in the GARM. Love that Hayes is coming back - the guy will have a lot to teach to the young guys. His skill set isn't one to decline with age as he never really relied on crazy athleticism. Hard to find much smarter on court players not to mention the all out hustle and heart he brought. One thing that Terry, Brewer and Josh brought was visible passion and hustle which really gets the fans into it. Thats not to say the other guys didnt have passion or hustle they just werent as emotional about it. Chuck will be the biggest cheerleader for this team on and off the court. Also he may be the starting center now opening night
Blake has improved since 2010. Has Chuck's game improved as well? Have not followed him since he left Rockets.
Then bring him as an assistant. And please don't let him teach free throws. We already have issues with our bigs not able to shoot free throws and this will just add more problems. Even if he could play good defense, other team will feast with him sending him to the free throw line. So, no positives at all!!
Are they going to renounce Thornton now that KJ has been re-signed? I hope not. Cut Wood. Sign Harrell.
The guy is rarely going to get playing time. For the 3 minutes he MIGHT get a game, all he has to do is just play solid defense and rebound. There is no point in analyzing what Chuck Hayes will bring to the court. We have a ton of other players that will play ahead of him and unlike an assistant, if need be he can actually step on to the court and play. So he is basically an assistant that can play.
Probably do a T-Rob type of trade....instead it would be T-Jones for couple 2nd rounders and international prospects or a first rounder
