i really don't think it's much of an argument with teams in our situation. we're a veteran team in win-now mode and our pick should be later than 25 and their 2nd should be earlier than 35. we're talking about a roughly 10 place difference, but without the guaranteed contract.
That is what I was wondering. What kind of suspension is he going to get if any? Is there any history we can look at to try and gauge what the NBA might hand down to him?
His FG% goes down as the team around him progressively gets worse. Started off with Melo and ended with Wilson Chandler.

JR Smith ran a stop sign and killed his friend who was sitting in the passenger seat. He got 7 games.
Huge issues. Denver had no choice, but to get rid of him. When Jameer came, it was a sign that they didn't want Lawson around Mudiay. Houston had to pull the trigger on the trade. No other PG's were available. They gave hardly anything up. If Lawson pans out in Houston, it will pay enormous dividends for us.

Not only that, but with the Rox, Lawson has guys on the court who will be drawing attention away from him. You can't double team Harden AND Howard and LAWSON. He's going to be seeing more open looks this year than he has in quite a while.
You guys remember that time DM traded a rusty, broken down lawnmower, a decoder ring, a bag of Lays potato chips, a half scratched lotto ticket and a used condom for Ty Lawson? Pretty sweet.
Personally, I actually love the idea of Lawson coming off the bench. Playing starter minutes (~30) but off of the bench. As a lot of posters have already said, Harden's and Lawson's minutes need to be staggered so that one of those playmakers is in all the time. Play Beverley for the first 4 or 5 minutes, then bring Lawson in. Then at the end of the first quarter/beginning of second bring Brewer in while Harden rests. Or something like that? That would help to mask some of the defensive liabilities of a Lawson/Harden backcourt. It would help to keep Beverley's minutes down to help prevent him from being injured again. But wow. We have so many players now that I want to get minutes for! Lawson, Beverley, Brewer, Thornton, McDaniels. Not to mention an MVP candidate in Harden. Crazy. Hopefully we will be able to spread the minutes out over more players to be able to prevent as many injuries next year.
Just curious, when will this trade become official? My heart will keep pounding hard until it is official....lol

from watching Ty at UNC (go heels!) and a little bit while he was on the nuggets, he's really a pass-first PG at heart and only started scoring more due to necessity; now that the pressure to score is off his shoulders, he'll be back to his natural pass-first role with some scoring/play-making on the side when needed! *reminisces back to the time where he would dish to Psycho-T, Ellington, and Danny Green*
I just hope this doesn't turn out to be Royce White 2.0 when we gamble on resolving non basketball issues and we lose. Fortunately, the stakes are low, but the prizepool is massive!!!
