"@jonmorosi: #Astros also have interest in Justin Upton. #Padres, with 1.0% chance of winning division per @fangraphs, look like a seller. @FOXSports"

    Justin Upton just got pulled:

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Justin Upton removed as a precautionary measure today because of weather and muscle tightness.</p>&mdash; Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) <a href="https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/622884333833969664">July 19, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

    Suspicious.

Hate the 1/2 year rentals... especially for such a young team.

Depends on what you give up for the rental player. Only so much room on the 40 man roster. Also if you get Upton or Cueto you get to see how they fit with your club and whether you want to offer huge money for them.

Rasmus is essentially a rental player.... not sure how that's affected this "young team" all that much.

The going rate for rental players are going to be less than club-controlled ones... and given the surplus of prospects this team has, you have to start getting as much for them as possible at some point.

Would love to have these people reveal their "sources who have knowledge on the team's thinking."

If there's any info out there, its because Luhnow wants it to be. Anything else is pure guess-work by bad journalists.

During the last losing streak, it was the bats that came up short.

This was also the case in the 7 game losing streak earlier in the season.

The main concern about pitching comes from the fact that Keuchel is on track for a career high in innings pitched, Feldmen is oft-injured, McHugh is still a wild card, and the young guys (LMJ and VV) won't be subjected to really high inning totals by season's end.

They'll focus on pitching first... but there are places they can and should improve upon in regards to the everyday lineup.

He's better than Straily, Oberholtzer, and any other AAA options at this point.

Would Upton fit in our plans long term? I'd love to add him, but at the same time it doesn't really make sense with our OF depth and youth coming through the ranks.

Yea Feldmans injury history is real

But as a back of rotation starter he is fine when healthy

The thing about adding a front rotation guy is it gives us a lot better chance to win once we get to the playoffs

He is only 27 so he would certainly be the right age

Just depends if that is where you want to dedicate long term money or not. I would say probably not

Short term though he could be a huge help
