This is the chess aspect of Morey. Everyone scratched their heads about giving papa the MLE but the second year was non guaranteed. And then everyone was WTF about the Prigs trade when we needed pg help last deadline. But again non guaranteed. Being able to combine them and move them for Lawson is what Denver wanted. They weren't looking for a talent back they were looking to get out of this contract and Morey saved them a boatload of money with deals from last year. This is the asset collecting that so many seem to despise but Morey was finally able to capitalize. Make no mistake folks this is a huge huge huge move for the Rockets. Better than adding Smith and Brewer last year. Lawson would be an all star if it wasn't for the glut of PG talent in the west. Almost 10 assists a game with little to no help last year talent wise.
I'll donate 100 bucks to the tip jar if Hollic spills what is about to come out of this trade and he turns out to be right. Hell i'll give him the money or donate to charity if he wants that instead.
So now the Rockets have Durant's BFF from the NBA and High School. Should we try to get Connor Atchley back to make it a perfect 3 for 3?
You should have also dug up http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=228749 an offer I made him after he lose the bet so that he could save his face. bballtrollic got his ass kicked. He lost the bet. Came back on a different moniker. Never even donated $20 to charity at the minimum. What a douchebag! Still waiting on the $20 donation to a charity of my choice!
You mean Morey does not go all-in on a bluff. He folds all the time, when the probabilities don't add up in his favor. He never lets ego get involved, and will walk away from any deal no matter how tempting it is (see Dragic at the trade deadline last year) if he doesn't think it's in our best longterm interest. If Morey goes all-in, it will be because he is 99% sure he has the winning hand. Today, he didn't even have to go all-in. This was his version of stealing the blinds.
You're going to hate me for this. I'm the third guy to vote no. Why? Because I highly doubt he'll recover. Good player? Oh heck yeah. Highway robbery of a trade? Most circumstances, I'd agree. But alcoholism is not something that's fixed quickly. Just ask my favorite stand-up comedian, Craig Ferguson--a recovering alcoholic himself. Please watch the whole thing. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7ZVWIELHQQY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

So now we can have a combination of Lawson running the offense with Dwight/Harden cutting or Harden running it with Lawson/Dwight cutting. Bring me the Warriors and let's try this again.
One more thing... They wanted two firsts for him after the Mozgof deal! http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....-round-picks-for-ty-lawson-at-trade-deadline/ http://basketball.realgm.com/wireta...-Two-First-Rounders-For-Ty-Lawson-At-Deadline
I understand your logic but the poll was asking if you like the trade with the underline being from a basketball standpoint. At worst, if Lawson does not recover then we just lost a protect 1st Rounder. God help him if he doesn't recover but that's outside of basketball. There are 28 other GMs right now saying "Holy ****. Morey got Lawson for WHAT??" There is 1 GM saying "Hell yes, I got rid of him and got a 1st Rounder to boot....that will be a late pick....that will probably be only a few spots higher than the 2nd Rounder I gave away......?!?!" There is 1 GM saying "At worst, this will be like a Royce White situation. At best, I just made a trade for the NBA championship"
It's embarrassing seeing Lamarcus Aldridge dominating Terrence Jones, putting up 40+ points against the Rockets......................
