Why hasn't he found and taken those offers yet? And if that's the case then it's prob safe to assume he's elsewhere this season.
It's BS because I guarantee you if the Rockets did not take their sweet time resigning him because of KJ Mcdaniels Josh would be in a Rockets uniform. Keep in mind that Josh has to play behind Blake Griffin now. He only had to play behind DMO if that. and likely TJ would have been traded it is total BS and just an excuse.
Because he would prefer to sign with us? You are acting like Terry is a scrub that can't find a guaranteed contract in the league.
His contract can be easily moved. Also he isn't a complete scrub. Defensively he has the ability to be dominant. He has great athleticism, long active arms, excellent instincts and the ability to cover 3-4 spots on the floor. He needs to work some on switches and spacing but that is about it defensively. He was very good defensively in Philadelphia for periods of time. That is why he was coveted by the Rockets. So what is the problem? He cannot shoot. He is literally at a D-2 level when it comes to shooting. His handle isn't Robert Horry bad, he can bring the ball up and finish well enough. Really the Rockets are betting on KJ getting good at hitting open 3's. It can happen; Bruce Bowen comes to mind and Trevor Ariza. Even Jason Kidd became good at it. If KJ becomes a 38-40% shooter on 3's; he can be a serious beast of a role player.
Your missing the point - having a promising young, useful player on a cheap contract is of value in a trade. Having depth at a specific position(in this case the 2/3 spot) is of value in a trade too because it gives you the flexibility to thrown one of your 2/3 guys in a trade and not immediately have a hole in your roster. ...you let another team sign him, and Houston is down one more potentially tradeable asset and all of a sudden Ariza and Brewer are harder to let go of if you need to thrown them in a trade either to match salaries or because another team wants them. Morey is smart - he is willing to spend for a star, but everyone else he looks for bargains on and he tries to dot the roster with salaries of all types that could facilitate a trade with. So Morey has two "untouchables" in Harden and Howard and the rest of the roster is about having as many different sized trade chips as possible so he can have a chance if someone is willing to part with someone we would have a tough time acquiring in the open market. The point is, the FA market is much more crowded with potential suitors than the trade market because most teams lack the tradable pieces to pull off just about any deal.
He will see time if he practices and plays well.... Finch wants to play Ariza some at the 4 and the Rockets would like to cut James' minutes some.
??Prigs contract becomes guaranteed today?? All of it? So after this it's not a good trade chip at all?
I like the kid and think he may turn into a quality rotation player, but I love the deal even more. Morey keeps knocking them out of the park with value deals allowing room for big deals in free agency down the road.
Prigs is gone. Retired. The question is his contract. I thought I read a post saying it was partially guaranteed until january! Not until today.
