Love the deal! He doesn't learn to shoot. Not a big contract. He learns to shoot, Rockets have a huge deal.
Rockets didn't waste time with a player like Gerald Green but they feel KJ McDaniels is a guy they could develop ok... maybe he's just trade bait.
Assuming Prigioni retires as rumored, we have hit our 15 man regular season roster limit. This is not counting what I consider those fake contracts they gave to players like Wood, which I imagine will be waived. The team is still in need of a re-balance trade, and I have to imagine that Morey has a PG trade lined up. Johnson just isn't ready to be, or maybe good enough, to be a rotation player, which leaves only one serviceable PG on the roster, meanwhile we just used a good chunk of our MLE on the 6th or 7th best rotation wing. That doesn't add up. As is, this looks like the end of Jason Terry on the Rockets, because there just isn't a roster spot, unless you waive Dorsey, or do a 3-1 trade. We have Terry's bird rights, so the contract we can give him, does not depend on how much of the MLE we use. In fact, if we do open up roster spots via trade, I wouldn't be surprised if Terry gets a contract worth more than he is as a player, simply to create a trade asset. A deal like the Papanikolau one would be beneficial to both Terry and the Rockets. Using only a portion of the MLE, means the Rockets can get Harrell a longer deal with more options, which is advantageous to us.
KJ totally bet on himself and won. He's going to make 4 times the guaranteed money of other 2nd draft picks.
sounds good. glad to see this guy hang around. "but he hasn't proven anything" - well $3.3M/year for 3 years with NO option is a steal for a high upside rookie who's played half a season (6ers pre-trade) in the NBA. In a few years 3 mil will be damn near the league minimum and if this guy turns out to HALF as good as people say, he will still be a bargain. I am less upset about JSmith now. #Progress

Of all the useful information there, you chose to focus on the most irrelevant part. Congrats. For the record, he was not intended to be illustrated as part of the rotation at all. I purposefully left his name outside the chart, it just so happened to be lined up with the SGs.
