Well among those illegal immigrants you do find rapists and drug runners, though it is unfair to characterize all illegals that way....that said, the crowd he was talking about all disregard the law because they believe their individual interests to be more important than following the law and doing things the right way. Due to that, I have a hard time getting worked up over someone being unfair to that group.

Comments made to disparage the service of someone who gave 5 years in a Vietnamese POW camp in service to this country are certainly more egregious.

I am not sure I understand the question. This is how Donald Trump has always behaved. As far as I can tell, he is who we thought he was. He is the personification of New York City much like Mark Cuban and Jerry Jones are for Dallas.

Was trump even in the military? If not, he should really keep his mouth closed.

Anyways, he's nothing but a novelty. The country needed someone to assist SNL with new skit material.

Current issue notwithstanding, that's not a great metric for political or rhetorical credence.

    This.

Trump is no idiot...everything he's done and said so far is calculated. He knows what he's doing.

He's just in the race for fun, attention and money. In other words, Trump's in it for Trump. I expect him to drop out before the end of the year. Hell I have doubts if he's truly a conservative.

I just don't think he gives a damn.

He'll give SNL and other late night shows plenty of material to work with.

Gotta at least appreciate him calling Rick Perry a DUMMY during a twitter war. This is not a bright man... the Republican party is very deserving of someone like him.

Trump is the definition of a boor and a buffoon. That hair should be enough to intimate everything you need to know about his total lack of self awareness. He would be more appropriately clothed with whiteface and a big red round nose. Maybe he could mix in a few pratfalls, and an old bicycle horn.

The befuddling part is that anybody took him seriously before now.

Sounds like most of the corporate hacks that are in government for their own self interests, even if it means selling themselves out to lobbyists. Although, to be fair, they are being legally bribed under Citizens United, so nothing illegal about that ;)

As such, I wouldn't be upset about someone being less than fair when talking about corporate criminals either.

He may be doing this for fun but I don't think he'll drop out... Unless they kick him out.

McCain did crash a plane and get captured (and there have been rumors for a long time that he spilled his guts)... Plus there are veterans who haven't been too happy with McCain and his wife lately. I wouldn't be surprised if this helps Trump more than it hurts.

Disagree on both counts. Trump's "base" is comprised of people who are angry with both Democrats and Republicans. Most respect Sen. McCain -- they may not agree with him but they do IMO respect him. That said, I hope Trump, unlike McCain in Vietnam, has shot himself down.

As a developer, entrepreneur and senior manager, absolutely. You're demonstrating enough social compatibility with upper classes to impress individual gatekeepers and benefactors to invest training, provide access and risk capital.

Politics requires a completely inverted strategy, demonstrating enough class and hierarchical resentment to appear relatable and allied to a majority of voters.

It's not over for Donald Trump, a lot of people don't even like Mccain. And if you look at what he said he took it back almost immediately after he said it, the media just ran away with the sound bite "He's no war hero". He's still at the top of the polls and most likely will remain there because the other Republican candidates are uninspiring. Trump at least makes things interesting.

So maybe Trump was going after the Al Franken wing of the Republican party....bold strategy, let's see if it pays off.

Quoting Al Franken in 2000 is like quoting Jon Stewart.
